The Vanduul craft designated by the UEE as the Stinger^[1] is a rare heavy fighter reserved for the Vanduul equivalent of ace pilots as well as high-ranking members of their clans. It is almost unrivaled in size and firepower as a fighter.^[2]

In 2945, the UEE Navy issued a request for proposal for a next-generation fighter capable of outmatching the Vanduul STINGER-class heavy fighter in speed and turning.^[1]

The Stinger is first teased in the 2015 E3 PC Gaming Show video.^[3] The Stinger now appears on the Squadron 42 Roadmap.^[4] The Stinger along with the rest of the Vanduul fleet were redesigned in 2019 using the design styles of the updated Kingship interior.^[5]
