The Apollo Triage is an armored medical aerospace-craft manufactured by Roberts Space Industries for use when a ground-based medical facility is not available.[1] Combining the ambulance capabilities of the Drake Cutlass Red with the advanced medical technology found in much larger facilities, the Apollo is the gold standard in medical evacuation and rapid emergency care, having provided critical aid to the known universe for over two centuries. When one thinks of first-class medical rescue, one thinks of the RSI Apollo.[1][2]

Features

Medical Modularity
The Apollo provides two modular medical rooms which can individually support three tier 3 medical beds, two tier 2 medical beds, or one tier 1 medical bed for progressively more intensive medical care, including their respective Regeneration capabilities as of Alpha 4.3.1.
Access and Docking
The Apollo can be accessed via an air-locking elevator that provides direct access to the Cockpit/Habitation area, as well as a rear ramp leading into an airlock. The Apollo's aft airlock doubles as a telescopic docking collar which supports connection to both small-form-factor ship-to-ship docking collars and large-form-factor station docking collars.[3][4]
Weapons and Survivability
The Apollo Triage is equipped with a pair of Size 4 forward facing guns, a remote turret that accommodates a pair of Size 3 guns, and two integrated missile racks each capable of holding four Size 2 missiles. All components of the ship are accessible from the interior, facilitating easy maintenance and replacement.
Internal stowage
In the crew habitation area, there exists a set of storage lockers positioned above the beds, with each locker capable of holding up to 450K µSCU of various items. In each of the cargo rooms, there are a set of weapons/utility racks, each accommodating three Size 1 pistols, three Size 2-4 weapons/utility items and three Size 1 utility items. Within the modular medical rooms, shelving units are available that can support up to 30 MedGel canisters per room, and as well as patient storage lockers that can hold up to 150K µSCU of various items for each bed. Two cargo rooms round out the ship's storage with capacity for 16 SCU each.

Modules

The ship has two modular rooms that contain medical beds. These beds are designed to act mostly as mostly automated doctors and surgeons. They are a one-stop-shop to treating and healing all ailments and injuries, setting your next Regeneration point, clearing overdosed field drugs from your system, or just scan yourself to see what's up.

Image Type Description
Tier 1 The most advanced medical bed available. These beds are designed to restore health and heal all types of injuries (including severe Tier 1) and can regenerate individuals with an imprint who have perished within a distance of 750,000,000 kilometers.
Tier 2 The more sophisticated medical bed. These beds are capable of stabilizing patients, promoting health, healing moderate injuries (Tier 2), and regenerating individuals with an imprint who have perished within a radius of 8,000 kilometers.
Tier 3 The most frequently accessible medical bed. These beds can stabilize patients, promote health, heal minor injuries (Tier 3), and regenerate individuals with an imprint who have perished within a 50-kilometer radius.

2023-05-26 Apollo is announced to be scheduled for production in 2024.[6]
2025-08-21 While space will remain clear in the Apollo for their potential future implementation, the Shepherd MediLift drones are no longer a planned feature.[7]

Trivia

  • Apollo is the roman spelling of Apollon, the Greek Olympian god of prophecy and oracles, music, song and poetry, archery, healing, plague and disease, and the protection of the young. He was depicted as a handsome, beardless youth with long hair and attributes such as a wreath and branch of laurel, bow and quiver of arrows, raven, and lyre.[9]
  • Apollo is also the name that classifies a type of asteroid whose orbit ranges from within to beyond the orbit of the Earth.[10]
