The Asgard is a variant of the Valkyrie series of transport ships developed by Anvil Aerospace. Designed to be the next evolution in ground vehicle transport, the Asgard represents a significant advancement that is tailored to meet the requirements of contemporary military operations. It features a rapid-loading ramp, a roomy interior specifically engineered to safely house your chosen assault vehicle, and a comprehensive array of weapons to ensure entry into the most fiercely contested drop zones.[1][2]

Features

Interior holding
The primary design modification in this variant is its internal cargo compartment, which can accommodate tall ground vehicles such as the Nova and Anvil's own Atlas series of vehicles. In the absence of transport vehicles, the same area can accommodate 180 SCU of cargo on its grids.[1]
Redesigned ramp
The rear ramp has undergone a redesign making it larger as well as to function at an increased speed, thereby enhancing the rapid deployment of ground vehicles.[2]
Guns
The ship is equipped with four Size 3 guns, a manned turret capable of accommodating two Size 4 guns, and a remote turret that houses two Size 3 guns, in addition to a pair of manned Size 1 guns positioned just inside at the side entrances.[1]
Missiles
Alongside the ships guns, the Asgard is equipped with racks capable of accommodating sixteen Size 3 missiles.[1]
Stowage
The vessel is equipped with two suit lockers and racks that can accommodate four rifles or utility items, one large FPS weapon, and four pistols or utility tools.[2]
Crew accommodation
The living arrangements for the Asgard crew have been restructured to enhance compactness and functionality, featuring private quarters for 2 crew, along with a kitchenette and a bathroom.[2]

Development

2025-05-08 The Asgard was officially revealed in a episode of Inside Star Citizen, which was about the release of Alpha 4.1.1.[3]
2025-05-23 The ship was first sold as a playable vehicle at the start of the Invictus Launch Week 2955 event.[4]

Trivia

  • Asgard, according to Norse mythology, is the residence of the gods, which is partitioned into twelve or more realms, such as Valhalla, the dwelling of Odin and the sanctuary for heroes who perished in earthly combat; Thrudheim, the domain of Thor; and Breidablik, the residence of Balder. Each significant deity possessed a palace within Asgard, and numerous Germanic tribes held the belief that these grand structures resembled those of their own aristocracy. Access to Asgard from the earth was solely possible via the bridge Bifrost (the rainbow).[5]
