I've recently been trying to remote follow some accounts from my own peertube instance from https://makertube.net and https://spectra.video and at first it seems as though it's successful, but shortly after the subscription disappears.
Another great topic by
@fedihost regarding #algorithms ... not the bad kind;) That could make the #fediverse an easier transition to newcomers and established users alike.
And don't forget if you want to get their videos right in you timeline, and have the ability to comment and like directly just follow the account above 👆

@dansup you might want to hit up https:/freesound.org for cc0 sound effects as well, I've seen other projects like #blender use addons to directly access their library.
This is a habit of drawing something every time I feel the urge to scroll unnecessarily. It helps stop the bad habit and start a new good habit of sketching daily!
Two page spread of a sketchbook with 13 brown pen drawings of wombats. At the top left page, there is the text 5/23/25 WOMBATS written at the top. Below on the left is the text SOO much struggle with these. There is also a heart drawing. There are 4 wombats on the left page in different poses. On the right page at the top is the text Let's try again! There are 8 drawings of wombats with less shading. There is a mother and baby on the top left, and various other poses. At the bottom right is a drawing of a mother wombat from the back with the text Baby in the Back! written on her butt, and a baby peeking out between her legs. There is also cube shaped poop labeled and drawn here and there.

Sadly, it looks like our time here in The Hague is coming to an end. We will be returning to Vermont shortly and, as such, I need to weed through what can be left, what can be donated and what can fit into our luggage.

Watercolor painting of an alley break between two buildings along Westduinweg in Scheveningen, The Hague. A blue sky keyhole cuts through the middle vertical of the scene between two buildings. The brick apartment building on the right has many floors with tall slender windows reflecting the sky and a ground floor business with a blue awning and white trim storefront. The building on the right has a steep, orange-tiled roof above a brick facade and three slender, arched windows with light green panes. Before the buildings is a sunlit sidewalk and road with alternating angled slabs of pavement.
@_elena first of all, thanks to people sharing the load, it played buttery smooth. Secondly, I think this went #fediviral :). 1 day later over 5.7k views at this point, wow!!!
By now you might have seen the post announcing the release of my promotional video for the Fediverse. But in case you have boosts turned off, here we go: https://news.elenarossini.com/fediverse-video/
I posted about it this morning from my #GoToSocial account because I have a 5000 character limit there. And I had so many people to thank for their help. It really takes a village.
Thank you for all the wonderful feedback so far ❤️
Kdenlive 25.04 is out with background removal (SAM2), OpenTimelineIO import/export, performance enhancements, optimized audio waveforms and lots workflow improvements and bug fixes.

While billionaires keep building higher and higher fences around their properties to keep people out, we should start building super high tax walls to keep the billionaires out
@stux
@Kierkegaanks I've heard that argument years ago regarding corporations... Tying taxation to their levels of employment, the more citizens employed the lower the taxes and vice versa, because after all, if the corps aren't contributing to their societies then they need to pay...or think twice about layoffs for quick profit;)
I feel that so many need it, but don't actually know it yet;) It is a major part of our creative and social sovereignty.
At this point even otherwise idiologically aligned projects that aspouse the use of alternatives to replace big tech are not even mirroring their content to the "free web".
Thank you for all your great feedback to my article about #PeerTube. I plan to use it extensively for the next 2 weeks to write a follow-up post... and bring you interviews with PeerTube creators.
If you have any tips about how to improve the experience on mobile, I'm all ears! (Aside from using it in my mobile browser, that is).
@_elena unfortunately I don't think it's available on the playstore which is likely why it doesn't have the same limitations as the official app, for example, no limitation on the instances you can connect to.
It may be worthwhile to reach out to the developer
@agosto182 to get some insight 🤷♂️
@jhpot you may be interested to know there is a fantastic and affordable managed hosting provider https://fedihost.co that is from Montreal cofounded by @paige which hosts #mastodon as well as #peertube instances ... They also have a great educational series of fediverse here:
@_elena my favourite on android ATM is #p2play by an Italian developer, I believe, it's available on #fdroid and he also has an account where he does coding sessions on #peertube:)
No restrictions since it's not on the play store, but it behaves exactly as you'd expect for a YouTube etc client. More intuitive, but more functional than the official app
@textovervideo From what I understand a good place to start for #linux support is always #huion there are many blog posts by
@davidrevoy that give walkthroughs .... I believe he is using #kde
Last week, some members of the #Kdenlive core team met in Amsterdam for a short sprint to plan some actions for this year. One of the highlights was a visit to the
@Blender foundation. Thanks @fsiddi for receiving us.
Let's get a summary here. One key module, Framework Laptop AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series, Framework Desktop AMD Ryzen AI Max (this machine is a BEAST), Framework Laptop 12 with touch screen/convertable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8k7jTF_JCg
@frameworkcomputer please consider growing a presence outside of the regular corporate walled gardens in true #fediverse style ... running a dedicated #peertube instance of your own would be a minimal expense.
#penpot is doing exactly this and it's been very warmly received. It's a really great way to set yourself apart and win hearts and minds;)
Hey there, I need help from people who watch PeerTube videos! 👋
Do you have favourite PeerTube channels you would recommend to others? Or do you run a PeerTube channel yourself?
I run a site at https://fedi.video that tries to highlight the best videos and accounts on PeerTube. It's intended as a safe, easy way to discover videos. It would be great to get more channels listed, so it would be brilliant to hear your recommendations! 🙂
Question: do I update my #Fediverse stock photo with this screenshot (it has the shortcut to #Friendica too)?
Disclaimer: Friendica & #Lemmy do not have official apps, so these are iOS shortcuts to URLs (of instances).
A reminder that this stock photo is for articles about the Fediverse, so it’s the most vanilla, KISS (Keep It Simple) version imaginable for people not familiar with the Fediverse. My real Fediverse folder has Ivory, Mona, Phanpy, Surf and Voyager.
Let me know your thoughts!
A screenshot of a smartphone screen (iOS) that shows a folder called Fediverse with the following icons: Friendica, Lemmy, Loops, Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed
A screenshot of my YunoHost dashboard showing the applications I am running on my VPS: Fail2Ban, Friendica, Ghost, GoToSocial, LinkStack, Phanpy and Pixelfed
Just won a Communication Arts Illustration award for this series.
Honestly felt like it was a longshot but wanted to finally enter some of my work in a competition to take the temperature on things. So this was definitely a surprise and damn it feels good.
@kdenliveKDE I wasn't aware of the opentimelineIO work to allow sharing projects between applications that support it....the world has needed this for a long time:). It's the original walled garden;)
