My art shop has a collection of inexpensive original miniatures in a variety of nature subjects.
Good news for buyers in the USA, your art will be sent duty paid, and art is exempt from the tariffs! https://folksy.com/find/shop/theweeowlart
A photo collage of some of my original miniature artworks, all are 7.5 x 7.5cm and will fit a 3" square frame:
A portrait of a fox in profile, forget me not flowers, a bumblebee, pink cosmos flowers, an ammonite fossil, a ladybird, a goldcrest bird, a burrowing owl and a blackbird.
When starting out with painting, blending and blurring can be really intimidating but here’s the thing: you don’t need either to create atmospheric environments, so my latest video tutorial is all about creating impactful sceneries with nothing but silhouettes. 💜
A photo of a landscape-format painting placed on a wooden desk and surrounded by acrylagouache tubes, a paint brush, crystals, and leaves. The painting features a dense forest environment in pink/purple/blue tones, with the very foreground in pure black. A small overgrown bridge is the central element.
Hello!
This is a new instance for my artwork. My background is in scientific illustration/biology, and I am currently working as a freelance graphic designer. I will be posting here about my personal creative work. Although my work has primarily been about nature, I have decided to learn figure drawing from an online art academy, so I will be posting about that as well.
Watercolor sketch of an owl from a study of Louis Agassiz Fuertez (nature artist, 1874-1927)
A solitary pelican glides across still waters in this peaceful digital painting, bathed in soft twilight hues. Gentle ripples reflect the bird’s elegant form as golden light fades into moody blues. With its serene composition and painterly textures, this piece captures the quiet beauty of nature at day's end.
Nature sometimes carves sculptures that look as if they were shaped by an artist. This rock formation resembles a human face in profile – nose, lips, even a hint of a chin. In the middle of the desert, finds like this feel almost magical, like hidden stories etched into stone.
Soft as watercolor, the pink fruits of the water apple (Syzygium) glow in the sunlight, like nature’s exotic little bells. A tropical touch that enchants with both taste and form.
The Garden Pig / Pig Art by Lisa S Baker. A pig adorned with a floral crown gazes peacefully as a small bird perches on its snout. The delicate arrangement of flowers adds a whimsical touch to the scene.
Nature as an abstract painter – this is the bark of the rainbow eucalyptus. Each layer reveals new shades of green, blue, purple and orange, creating a living masterpiece straight from the tropics.
Bowing To The Force Of Nature - Windswept Trees by Joan Stratton - paintingsbyjoan.com
Three twisted trees cling to rocky coastal ground, shaped by years of relentless wind. Whether under clear blue skies or stormy gales, they bend and bow — not broken, just beautifully adapted. I loved capturing their resilience and rhythm, a quiet nod to nature’s power and persistence.
With vibrant blues, streaks of cloud, and surreal movement in the foliage, this piece blends realism with expressive abstraction. The trees lean left, their trunks curved like dancers mid-motion, surrounded by green leaves and a dynamic sky that hints at both calm and chaos.
Created using my Ether Art technique — hand-drawn digitally from a blank canvas — this artwork celebrates the wild beauty of coastal landscapes and the poetic strength of wind-shaped trees.
Bowing To The Force Of Nature – Windswept Trees is perfect for lovers of expressive nature scenes, coastal décor, and symbolic landscapes. Available across fine art prints, canvases, apparel, and home décor.
