I always get bummed out whenever I think about chicken wings because every two chicken wings represent one chicken's life, so I think the solution is to genetically mutate chickens so they each have a freakish amount of juicy wings ready for the plucking.

My company used to be a scrappy San Francisco tech startup but we were acquired by a large corporation so we had to switch from being Google people to Microsoft people and I'm in the process of creating a training deck in PowerPoint and I am seriously losing my mind with how Microsoft keeps messing up my formatting and how every little thing seems to take 5–10 times as many steps.

For example, I'll try to figure out how to do something that would have taken one click in Google slides and I'll figure it out, but it's like a seventeen step process in PowerPoint, so, when I’m done, I'll ask my husband who has been tortured by Microsoft for much longer if there's an easier way to do that thing and he'll inevitably be like "the way you did it IS the easy way to do it in PowerPoint/Word/whatever."

It's seriously like they clunked together some code and were like "well, it's at least kind of sort of better than a word processor?" and never bothered to improve anything.

    This will be a long post so bear with me.

    So there’s a secret I have been carrying around all my life. It’s something that I realized when I was young and as the years went on it became clearer and clearer. But because I was raised in a deeply religious and bigoted family I kept that secret buried deep inside. Keeping it buried has done a number on my mental health over the years. Depression is something that has remained a constant in my life. But I soldiered on and continued living a lie.

    I’m sure by now you’re either figured it out or are wondering what this secret is. So let me just go ahead and say it…I’m . I’ve battled gender dysphoria all my life. I cosplayed as a man and engaged in hobbies and pursuits that were super masculine to hide the fact that inside was this woman screaming to get out. I got married, became a father, and continued pretending. But the dysphoria continued and depression took its toll on both my health and marriage.

    Fast forward to last week. While chatting with my Big Sister Wren this secret could not stay buried any longer and my egg cracked. I told her I was trans. All at once a huge weight was lifted off my chest. I cried. She cried. And my world changed.

    So here I am…Applefangirl. Hopefully those that follow me will continue to do so and support me over the next few years as I begin this transition journey. So this is my last post on this account (and it will be my pinned post on my new account). Love you all! 🩷

    Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 645 , Sunday 03/08/2025

    Sunday started around 8am after a really rough night with this latest ailment making finding a comfy position all but impossible.

    I think a trip to the docs tomorrow is definitely on the cards, if only so I can get some sleep!

    Today has been a quiet day, reading & catching up on some of Mrs S’s TV shows.

    There have been moments thru the day when the pain actually stopped for a short while, which was a blessing, but these periods of respite have only lasted about an hour.

    Final Thoughts.

    I discovered @randahl @mastodon.social has blocked me for some reason, we’ve been mutuals for a while & why he has blocked me is a mystery. No good deed goes unpunished it seems.
    It really tied a ribbon on an otherwise rubbish day.

    I hope I can get some decent sleep tonight, but my whole body hurts at the moment so I don’t hold out much hope.

    Still stiff upper lip & all that!

    Hello guys, it's my first time writing here. I'm a 28 years old autistic man and I work in a school. I feel that I'm passing by an autistic burnout.

    Furthermore, I'm constantly stressed with social interactions at work. It's being harder than ever to cope with these feelings.

    I work on a school office and I know that I need to rest. One week of rest isn't sufficient for me, and I'm studying too.

    I need to cope with my life obligations and relationship.

    There are a lot of noise and stuffs happening the whole time, and I'm not having patience with any of them.

    I don't want to see people in front of me anymore, and I really bothered with small talking all the time.

    I'm very anxious too, my mind it's always jumping to a thing to another, and I'm unable to relax when I'm at home, always trying to crave my mind at something related with my interest because I don't have time to them during my routine.

    Not only that, but I don't have time and I know that I'm not giving the proper attention to my relationship too because of my unquiet mind.

    How do you guys cope with those symptoms?

    I keep seeing memes about people loving trains.

    And yeah, a lot of autistic people do like trains, but we're not a 🤬 monolith.

    It's like saying that "allistic people love sports."

    We each have our own special interest, just like you do. We just tend to get more intense about the things we love.

    It's just frustrating. Even more so when it's other autistic people not recognizing that we're not unique individuals.
