Voters, she told me, are desperate “to understand how rising authoritarianism functions, how it’s moved in other countries, how we can best resist it through nonviolence, noncompliance and education.” Running in a special to fill the seat formerly held by New Jersey’s new governor, Mikie Sherrill, Mejia was determined to do “more than just traditional politics,” she said.

“ICE is out of control, ignoring the law and our Constitution. Congress must vote NO on any additional funding for DHS,” the senator argued as House progressives issued similar demands.

The senator’s demands largely align with the reported demands of Senate Democrats, with whom he caucuses, as well as those of House progressives.

“Senate Democrats will not allow the current DHS funding bill to move forward,” the chamber’s minority leader, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), said in a Monday statement. “Senate Republicans have seen the same horrific footage that all Americans have watched of the blatant abuses of Americans by in Minnesota.”

An open question to my fellow .

My friends,
How many times does need to endorse a candidate before you stop using to attack Democratic candidates?

Seems a rather odd strategy to stand on nobody's shoulders in some strange hallucination about "Corporate Democrats".

Remember . The Most "progressive" policy was created by the administration and helped establish the "Progressive" brand we see today.

I consider myself a "progressive" because has now been proven a complete lie for loyalist dupes to hide behind.

Having said that, I know from having US Government experience that the margins are not in favor of Democrats. Even if we manage to "shoot the moon" win in a final measure of the US electorate headed into the 2030s .

The canvas should be a long term vision of unity under the or I fear the time we collectively lost in hallucination.

Almost 15,000 nurses who work for three separate hospital systems have been on strike since 12 January, holding out for increased staffing, better safety in hospitals, and improved benefits. The State Association (NYSNA) has pointed to the giant pay packages that hospital CEOs have received, at a time when say there are too few of them to adequately care for patients.

The has pulled support from , the mayor, and Bernie Sanders, the democratic Vermont senator, both of whom joined striking nurses outside a Mount Sinai on Tuesday.

Bad business & bad ethics demands boycott. No CEO in the world is worth that kind of salary. All companies rest on the shoulders of their employees - always.

New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s victory highlights the growing influence of democratic socialists in U.S. politics, but his success will face pushback from both the Trumpian right and the Democratic establishment. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/commentary/2025/11/11/world/zohran-mamdanis-makes-big-bet/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon

Sen.

Senator Bernie Sanders sits down with Jon Stewart to discuss his latest book, "Fight Oligarchy." They talk about harnessing the energy of the "No Kings" rallies to build a clear vision for the Democratic party, prioritizing universal healthcare and affordable housing expansion, how Trump has embraced some socialist policies, the danger of corporations and oligarchs regulating the government, and making AI work for working people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUn1A0sEDrc

What is happening in will be a permanent stain on the world's collective conscience.

History will never forget how our government was complicit in enabling and sustaining this ongoing humanitarian disaster.

We must end funding for the Netanyahu war machine.
