Look, I’m as glad as anyone that #Kimmel is back on the air, but I’m kind of disappointed that with everything else going on in the USA that this was the thing that moved people to actually get off their asses and actually do something.
Cancelling Disney+ was a solid move and showed how effective boycotts can be in a system where money rules all.
Now cancel Meta. Cancel Google. Cancel Twitter. Cancel Amazon. Cancel Oracle. Cut off the cash flow to all these assholes who are murdering democracy.

Lubię gdy prawica maluję się jako obrońcy wolności słowa, ale gdy Jimmy Kimmel krytykuje zachowanie prezydenta Trumpa, to od razu się odpala i domaga się cancelowania. Najzabawniejsze w tym wszystkim jest to, że Kimmel oskarżany jest o niestosowne komentarze o śmierci Charliego Kirka — tymczasem żadnego takiego nie zrobił.
On po prostu wyśmiał Trumpa, i to nie jakimś montażem, tylko prawdziwym nagraniem. Nagraniem, na którym Trump zapytany o tym jak czuje się po śmierci przyjaciela, odpowiada, że czuje się dobrze i zobaczcie na ekipę, która buduje nową salę balową białego domu. To jest ta słynna prawicowa wolność słowa, że Trumpa nie wolno krytykować, chociaż oni pierwsi powinni być do tej krytyki.
I tak, my jako odbiorcy popkultury, która głównie płynie z zachodu, powinniśmy się tym martwić. To nie jest tak, że żyjemy sobie w Polsce i to, co się dzieje w USA, nas kompletnie nie dotyczy. Raz, że za chwilę podobną taktykę będą stosować nasi prawicowi dygnitarze, dwa, że ucierpią na tym treści, które są tworzone wszędzie. Amerykanie posiadają całkiem spory kawałek światowych mediów.
Bo nawet jeśli nie ma oficjalnej cenzury, to sama wizja Trumpa, który chce odebrać koncesje każdemu, kto w ogóle próbuje go jakoś skrytykować, spowoduje autocenzurę, na poziomie jakiego nie widzieliśmy. Lewica zabrania komedii? No nie, to właśnie prawica pokazała, że boli ich komedia.
Co dalej? Ano Amerykanie (i nie tylko) owszem, cancelują. Tylko że subskrypcje Disneya, a nie Kimmela. Czy Bob Iger się ugnie, czy może woli mimo wszystko przypodobać się prezydentowi? Czas pokaże. Miejmy nadzieję, że dla dobra popkultury, ktoś to w końcu ogarnie.

3. Note the companies that bought tv adverts. 4. Call them and let them know you will boycott them until they quit supporting that media company.
Trust me. I worked in tv for 45 years. Nothing you do will have greater impact. Nothing. This is a much more effective tool than cancelling Disney. We did cancel Disney but calling Joe's Jeep dealership who is buying adds on the local nexstar station will have a BIG impact. Joe doesn't need that grief. He will find another station to buy adverts on.
