No one asked, people will be mad I say this: I feel bad for Marco Rubio. I don't think he's deeply evil. I think he is a smart guy who wants to do the right thing and has been swept up in changes he never wanted.

Likewise, he's part of it, going along with it. Not saying he's innocent or anything. We disagree on most things. He's still a human being. He existing before MAGA, I'm certain he was someone who never wanted it to grow.

I don't know his detailed politics. It's just my empathy for people. He seems pained to be a part of this as much as he's a willing participant.

Makes me wonder how hard it is to be a politician. Power is your life, you've lost it, your only path to being employed is to forgo what you believe in and carry someone else's water. What options do you have?

People on there are just openly saying they want to remove the rights of women in voting. One vote per married household, etc. Women are constantly under attack.

Tried to create a new account. Had to sign up for new email, because of course. New email, new account - can't make posts, vote on posts. Tried to make a post, says it was removed right away and not why.

Reddit is a failed site, and sadly the top search result. It's what was trained on and toxic.

I've been banned recently for saying a product doesn't work - it removes speech.

@randahl I had a TBI. I got exactly 1 MRI since I left the trauma ward. There was no bleeding, they stopped looking. Something is certainly weird.

@randahl Local news here tends to post headlines they know are wrong. For example, there was a big brawl downtown but many got mad when it was called a "fight". Try trolling the opposition by framing them wrong, they might hit up the comments.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, in light of the increase in US application fees for the H-1B visa, for highly skilled immigrants (used extensively by Big Tech), the UK Govt. is assessing the value of dropping application fees altogether for high skill workers visa in the UK.

It makes perfect sense & perhaps may encourage the Govt. to shift the debate about migration away from 'small boats' and towards the economic benefits of migrants going in the UK workforce?

@ChrisMayLA6 I work for a consulting company, it's almost exclusively H1B workers and overseas workers. The interesting mistake you're making is that H1B workers are high skilled - they aren't. They are skilled just enough to fill the job, not thrive. The H1B VISA program is a slave labor program where we offer 2/3rd the pay, and for every 2 workers we can afford a 3rd. None of it is about getting the best talent, almost none of the applicants have any practical work experience - they're kids.

I leave the web interface running all the time. I unlock my machine and the notification sound is playing OVER AND OVER and the browser tab is practically locked. No other tab has an issue.
