Today's nerd info:

Denmark is known for its national flag, the Dannebrog. 🇩🇰

But the largest peninsula of Denmark, Jutland, actually has its own flag called Den Jydske Fane. It was created in 1975 by artist Per Kramer, and can legally be flown in Denmark as a symbol for the region.

It has a green area in the middle with blue around it, symbolizing the green forests of the peninsula with sea on both sides. On top is a red brown cross symbolizing the heathlands of central Jutland.

Jutland, where the flag is used — although it is rare, as must people prefer the Dannebrog.

@randahl @benroyce It's not only Greenland who has the circle among the regions of the Nordic countries, also the Sami has a circle in their flag, the colors are based on popular colors in Sami gaktis and the circle is a reference to a poem where the Sami are described as "sons and daughters of the sun".

So simplified we could say southerners carry crosses while northerners enjoy the sun. 😜

@itsfoss did a search for Dell Pro Max 16 Plus at the local dell page, the first ones listed are the cheaper models (xcto_mb16250_emea), pushing for ms-windows, while the 5 times more expensive models (bto112rs_mb16250_emea) then they switched to push for Linux, sure you can customize and select ubuntu, but that option you also have with the Dell Pro Max 16 too.

Trump’s latest peace plan is dead on arrival.

In Europe, most Ukraine allies have said so, and lawmakers in the US even claim, Marco Rubio admitted the plan is Russia’s wish list.

Next week we may see Macron, Meloni and others at The White House, again trying to please the unpleasable. But even to these seasoned politicians, the act is getting old.

In Europe, we long for the day when the US is out of the war game, because it is difficult to think when the toddler is constantly screaming.

When job numbers started to show signs of Trump's worsening economy, Trump fired the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and blamed his disastrous results on her "rigged numbers".

But the numbers are still really bad it appears, because now he is using the government shutdown as an excuse for not publishing any job numbers.

There are 195 countries in the world. Trump is currently threatening military action against Venezuela and Greenland (part of Denmark).

Why these two countries?

Picture 1: Venezuela ranks number 1 in oil reserves.

Picture 2: Greenland ranks number 8 in rare earth deposits.

Maybe Greenland is safe for now, because Denmark is a member of NATO. But Venezuela is not, and that is where 10 of the largest US war ships are now launching “Operation Southern Spear”.

Predictable like clockwork, Trump accuses the newly released Epstein e-mails of being a hoax.

How does that even work?

These e-mails came from the Epstein Estate. They were stored on and timestamped by a Gmail server. They were reviewed by the FBI and shared with Republicans on The House Oversight Committee, so how could Democrats fake that?

Is he saying Democrats took a time machine back to 2011 to get Jeffrey Epstein to write that Trump spent hours with one of the rape victims?

A Norwegian bus company wants to know if their buses could be abused by China in the case of war.

So they drive two buses deep into a limestone mine to isolate them from the internet and forensically investigate how they work.

In the mine, investigators discover a Chinese kill switch which could destroy all Chinese buses.

In Russia the economy is so bad, multiple regions are now forced to reduce the signup bonuses to Russian contract soldiers.

Russian business paper Vedemosti writes, that in
Orenburg Oblast, local authorities have reduced the signup bonus fivefold, corresponding to a reduction from 25,000 dollars to 5,000 dollars.

Ukraine is eliminating about 1,000 Russian soldiers per day. If no one wants to join Putin's war, he will start losing terrain in Ukraine this winter.

It’s the economy stupid!

Already in Q1, strong Trump states like Nebraska and Iowa experienced a 6.1 GDP drop — and this was before Trump’s trade war ran off the cliff. This was before Trump destroyed Chinese soybean exports, before he decided to import more beaf, before he began hunting down farm workers and kicking them out of the country, etc.

The reason we are seeing MAGA politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene leaving the sinking ship is, she knows voters will not vote for more of this.

This is madness — the effects of Trump's policies are now being revealed. New numbers are released across states, that reveal how much healthcare insurance premiums will go up next year:

A family of four making $130,000 in Maine will face an increase of $16,100 annually.

In Kentucky, a 60-year-old couple making $85,000 per year combined will have to pay $23,700 more.

All so Trump's billionaire sponsors can get tax breaks.

Whoooooops! Did Trump advisor Stephen Miller accidentally reveal his hand on live tv?

Asked whether Trump will abide by a judge's ruling not to use the national guard, Miller accidentally says Trump has "plenary authority" — that means "absolute power".

As every legal expert has said, Trump does not have absolute power, but Miller says it and then freezes — likely because this is the lie they have been telling Trump to get him to do what they want, but this lie was NOT meant for the press.
