Sheep Grazing in Green Field is a hand-painted watercolour painting in landscape format by the artist Karen Kaspar.
Sheep graze peacefully in a lush green meadow, surrounded by distant hills under a cloudy sky. The landscape is serene and calming.
Wonderful holidays in Scotland inspired me to create this watercolour painting.
Misty evergreen forest on a mountainside, with dark pine and fir treetops fading into dense gray fog that fills most of the frame, making distant trees appear as faint silhouettes.
This is a watercolor landscape painting in portrait orientation on Saunders Waterford Coldpress watercolor paper in 8x10. This is a landscape of a sky at sunset with a little crescent moon in the top left corner of the medium value warm blue sky. This color fades down into a lighter blue, then at the horizon line is a peachy pink and yellow swatch of sky. The background are layers of misty blueish tree lines that get darker as they move forward. Then there is a stretch of lawn with a little road on the ride side that disappears at the horizon line. The top of the lawn is a pale green giving a misty appearance which comes more into focus as it moves to the foreground. At the mid ground there's a tree on the left side of the road. On the right side there is some green foliage that takes up almost the entire right side.
Blue Mountains is a watercolor painting in landscape format painted by the artist Karen Kaspar. The landscape painting shows a fantasy - mountain range with mountains in strong purple and violet tones and bright shades of blue, which fade into a light pale blue in the distance. A dream landscape that invites you to relax. The colour effect of the blue tones supports the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere of the painting. It was painted layer by layer in different colour washes in luminous watercolours.
A view of a small pond with still waters reflecting trees on the other bank. The trees are fading into a mist in the background. There's a gangway in the front, covered with white snow.

I was looking for photos of the Harz Mountains because, sadly, broken #trees are a common sight there. And I wasn't disappointed! Here's our New Year's #hike from 2022 up Brocken Mountain on the Eckerlochstieg trail. Typical for families with small children, we started quite late and only made it to the summit at dusk (The famous pea soup at the summit café had already sold out ... how dare they!) We took the Brockenbahn steam train down the #mountain in complete darkness, as we had to wait for ages because an earlier train had broken down on the line. Nevertheless, it was a great experience and another fine contender for #FootpathFriday!
A misty, atmospheric forest scene showing the aftermath of a storm, with numerous bare tree trunks standing tall amidst fallen logs. A rocky, uneven path winds through the area, partially covered in moss and shallow streams of water. In the foreground, a group of hikers, including an adult and a child in a bright red jacket, navigate the rugged terrain. The child appears to be exploring the rocks, while the adults move cautiously along the path. The foggy background adds a sense of mystery and tranquillity to the scene, highlighting the resilience of nature amidst human activity.
This is a misty watercolor countryside painting with a cottage and a path among tall grasses. It's painted in an 8x10 portrait orientation on Arches Coldpress watercolor paper. Lots of browns in this painting with pops of orange here and there. The mist creates distance with the backside of the cottage, a fall tree on the left, and the mid ground foliage. Branches lit with orange leaves peak in on the right side covering a corner of the cottage roof. The path in the center fades into the mist at mid ground and guides a gaggle of geese towards the cottage. Tall grasses swoop towards the path on both sides.

A tranquil photograph captures a delicate sunrise on a foggy morning. The sun, a soft and diffused orb, glows gently in the centre of the frame, casting a muted golden light across the sky. Below, the silhouettes of trees are shrouded in mist, creating a serene and ethereal atmosphere. The scene exudes calmness and quiet beauty, perfectly encapsulating the peacefulness of an early morning.
This is another Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape inspired by the inktober prompt "murky," but it's more dark and misty especially with the the addition of DS Dark Mayan Blue.
This is a Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape Painting in portrait orientation in an A5 sketchbook using Daniel Smith Dark Mayan Blue, Shadow, Violet, and Lunar Violet. This piece is very dark in the bottom third with white streaks and pops suggesting a path down the center and rugged terrain. At the horizon line are bursts of dark pigments hinting at fir trees in the back background that fade into a gritty light blue gray atmosphere. Thin leafless trees extend up from the horizon line to the top of the artwork.
A photograph of a misty morning with the sun shining and visible in the middle of the image.
In the foreground is a grassy hilly meadow with trees occupying the right hand side of the image and behind the meadow, parts of a small industry can be seen. Around the buildings are sombirch trees.
Around the trees and buildings is a light mist, and the photo bathes and glows in the morning sun.
A row of tall, leafless trees stand in a misty field as the morning sun breaks through their branches, casting long shadows and radiant beams of golden light across the dewy grass. The atmosphere is serene and ethereal, with the interplay of mist and sunlight creating a dramatic display of nature’s quiet beauty.
This is a Reflective Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape in landscape orientation in an A5 sketchbook. Using a mixture of WN Cobalt Turquoise Light and Permanent Rose to make a moody purple, when diluted this combination splits out to reveal each pigment in its own element. Cobalt Turquoise Light is a granulating green leaning blue and Permanent Rose is a smooth pink. This separation is seen both above and below the tree line creating a misty feel. The masstone along the tree line is a smokey cool purple, which is slightly maintained in the medium values which burst from the tree line above and below. The evergreen trees appear in all shades of the two color ranges.
A dense, dark forest shrouded in an ethereal mist, giving it a mysterious and somewhat eerie appearance. Tall, slender tree trunks, mostly bare or with sparse dark foliage, stretch upwards, disappearing into the pale, misty background. The undergrowth is dark and leafy, adding to the sense of depth and enclosure. The overall lighting is dim, suggesting either dawn, dusk, or heavy cloud cover.
