Today has been a joyful day as we harvested some bananas from our local farmer's garden. This made us happy as some of the Empty stomachs were about to be filled. #Gardening #fighting hunger #community empowerment
My plants are helping me cope with the horrors of Israeli and american wars on Iran and disgusting hypocrisy of entire world watching and supporting it.
Going to have a lot of chili pepper plants soon, far more than I can handle or need.
I guess a lot of people will get pepper plants for present this summer.
It happened again! I had been using this unopened bag of soil to hold down one of my kids gymnastic bars in the backyard so totally forgot about it. A few months later and here’s another giant “weed” sprouting straight out of it. It’s so strong I can lift the whole bag without it tearing. Kinda proud of it, tbh

It was lovely weather this afternoon for my brief visit to the allotment. My way was blocked by a sord of mallards (yes, I had to go look it up again 🙂) who had taken occupancy of one of the footbridges. They really were reluctant to give up the spot! 😁 #allotmentgardening#gardening#kent#england#mallards#birds
A crocus growing close to the ground, its six purple petals with fine white striping almost fully open around its vibrant orange center, blooming in a garden bed among dried leaves and twigs on a warm March afternoon.
Today in #gardening, bought 8 bags of mulch and 2 bags of compost, watered and fertilized the garlic, planted the green onion stumps I was saving in the fridge, and walked the perimeter of the fence clearing sprouts of ivy, blackberry, and bamboo.
I’m really savoring these days when we can still have our brassicas. Kale and collards are some of my favorite foods. I’m already doing some planning for my summer garden, which is the toughest time to grow in my region. It’s really sad because it’s so hot and would be the perfect time to eat watery lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers but those things just become infested around here after May. #gardening#Zone10
A section of our garden with lots of lacinato kale growing along with collard greens, nasturtium and tomatoes. There is brown mulch everywhere and a compost pile in the background.
Several years ago a cherry plum (prunus cerasifera) made its home in a brushy area of our yard. I cut it free last year to give it room to grow into a tree, and being a very early species it's already pushing out a nice amount of flowers.
I am a localized state of low entropy kept low by performing work on a gradient of entropy. I meow back on the global timeline. I take photos with a camera. Fnord. I post pictures of ponies and photos of #gardening and #coocking the results. Also engineery stuff like #KiCad and bode plots. When i know your thing i may tag you with dois to fresh fulltext about it. #alttext is a universal right. I got the rules on a floppy disk long time before i dialed in first. Foodp0rn is cwd and fully sequential. Feel free to follow. Meow.
First batch of parsley plants started to grow.
Started the seeds in mix of Coco peat and compost covered with perlite and vermiculite.
Going to grow them on my balcony later this year.
In spring 2023, I stepped outside just minutes after the lawn had been sprayed and saw a beautiful American robin pulling worms from the same grass.
In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. That afternoon, I canceled the lawn service. Since then — and for as long as I own this property-he will be safe in my yard. #Nature#nativeplants#photography#birds#darktable#gardening
