The Dyson Supersonic Travel Hair Dryer easily fits into a carry-on suitcase or tote bag, making it great to bring along for weekend trips, vacation or a quick touchup after a workout session. Beyond its portable size, this device has universal voltage and its signature intelligent heat control technology, and can use attachments interchangeably with the Dyson Supersonic or Supersonic Nural.
The device measures 2.6 inches by 8.7 inches and weighs 0.7 pounds, making it 25% lighter than the full-sized Supersonic hair dryer. However, despite its petite size, it doesn’t compromise on performance. It has a powerful airflow of 11.6 l/s (liters per second)—for reference, the Supersonic Nural offers 13.3 l/s—and the intelligent heat control measures airflow temperature multiple times per second. In other words, it dries strands quickly while minimizing potential heat damage and excessive dryness. It also has three heat and two speed settings.
Efficient Styling—No Matter Where You Use It
One of the biggest concerns when traveling internationally is being able to use and charge your devices, but Dyson’s travel hair dryer automatically adapts to the voltage of your destination, from 100 to 240V. (Note: A travel adapter rated to 1300W may be needed depending on the country.) It’s also compatible with attachments from your Dyson Supersonic and Nural, so you can easily switch out the included styling concentrator for the diffuser or flyaway smoother. The 6.5-foot cord makes it easy to style your hair no matter where the outlets are located, and it comes with a handy travel case to keep it safe in transit.
How Does It Compare To Other Models?
Due to its size, this travel hair dryer is naturally not quite as powerful as the full-sized model. It has 1,000 to 1,220 watts of styling power, compared to the Nural’s 1,600 watts. However, the balanced, smaller size makes it easy to dry your hair in record time and allows for excellent versatility with styling.
