Jazda na biegówkach po lesie ma pewną ogromną zaletę. Nie mogę o niczym myśleć. Tylko ruch, podłoże i otoczenie. Inaczej się wywalę. Albo uważność, albo gleba.
Thinking of you is an acrylic painting in portrait format painted by the artist Karen Kaspar.
An abstracted human figure stands thoughtfully alone. The textured background is abstractly painted in shades of white and light blue, the person in various shades of blue.
Last night I attended the online social “Drawing Bee” on Zoom sponsored by artist John F. Simon, Jr., author of Drawing Your Own Path: 33 Practices at the Crossroads of Art and Meditation. I had purchased the book recently because I was interested in drawing meditation practices, and I intend to develop a a more regular, daily drawing practice. Buddhism advises you not to implant feelings that you don’t really have or avoid feelings that you do have.
If you are miserable you are miserable; that is the reality, that is what is happening, so confront that. Look it square in the eye without flinching. When you are having a bad time, examine that experience, observe it mindfully, study the phenomenon and learn its mechanics.
The way out of a trap is to study the trap itself, learn how it is built. You do this by taking the thing apart piece by piece. The trap can’t trap you if it has been taken to pieces. The result is freedom.

✨ Although I am lowly, not noble, my lowly station guides me to Bodhi [awakening]; Therefore, I should rejoice in being a human. — Genshin (942–1017 CE) ✨
Meditation - Wenn das Schweige-Retreat zum Horrortrip wird
Zehn Tage schweigen, stundenlang meditieren.
To z jednej strony cenny obszar uważnej obserwacji, a z drugiej - totalny chaos, często bez końca.
Mieszkam w Warszawie. W moim mieście większość wody pitnej pobierana jest z Wisły. W moim bloku jest to 100 % wody. Około 60 % ciała dorosłej osoby składa się z wody. Część z niej pobieram z Kofoli, której piję zdecydowanie za dużo. Jakaś część jest z jedzenia. Czasem też gdzieś wyjeżdżam. Piję jednak głownie kranówkę w moim mieszkaniu. Bezpiecznie mogę założyć, że przynajmniej 1/3 mnie to Wisła.
"Stillness isn't the absence of noise, but the ability to rest even as noise continues."
I don't post about my meditation practice a lot, but this line in a piece i shared at our sangha last night really resonates with me. It's what i try to convey to new meditators who think they have to make all their thoughts "go away" to meditate. Nope! You really can't -- thoughts are the brain doing its job. But the way you respond to your thoughts, your internal noise, is key. #Buddhism#Meditation
One of my frequent issues [as system co-host] is that I often can't come to rest, especially when I'm in a manic phase. For me, resting means staying at front and doing nothing (or a restful/soothing low-spoons activity, like listening to my favourite music). However, often headmates switch in as soon as I try to rest, and they often further exhaust our body-mind.
micro-dosing weed often helps clearing the mind and to come to rest. But I also seek other methods that don't rely on psychogenic drugs.
not having much experience with meditation. It sometimes works, but more often it does not work. Maybe there are some #meditation techniques that could work for our plural mind but that we just don't already know?
A moment of peace and reflection
Two stone figures frozen in calm — one resting, the other deep in thought. Simplicity, silence, and a touch of zen amid the everyday rush.
I happened to awake at 5am; so I meditated after showering. I have hardly read since. Reading reverses the effects of the meditation. I thought it would help with the Strive training and dealing with aggressive drivers.
About the photo:
In many Buddhist traditions across Southeast Asia — especially in Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos — devotees apply thin sheets of gold leaf to Buddha statues, stupas, and sacred objects as an act of merit-making (known in Thai as tham bun).
Three Buddha statues stand side by side at a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. Two are covered in gold leaf and draped in saffron monk robes, glowing softly in the warm morning light that filters across the temple courtyard in the background
