Most of the time, yes. It has a relation with the impact. I’m referring to activity on social networks such as Mastodon and Bluesky, but also to other sources like Nuclei templates, Metasploit modules, and the Shadowserver Honeypot dataset. We rely on different types of sightings. It’s not just about “mentions.” The sightings used in the reports are from different sources:

Regarding social network mentions, especially on platforms like Bluesky, I was quite skeptical at first since there’s a lot of noise. Lot of people are simply ranting. I changed my mind on this. Honestly, most of the time when we observe a spike in activity shortly after — or even before — the publication of an advisory, it turns out to be a severe vulnerability. Or something we have to look at.

We discussed this topic in our paper presented in Berlin: https://www.vulnerability-lookup.org/events/#first-cyber-threat-intelligence-conference , and more recently, we explored its connection with forecasting and automated classification techniques in our paper “VLAI: A RoBERTa-Based Model for Automated Vulnerability Severity Classification.”

Oh shit, new profile time!

Anyway, hey, just another person who's joining in the Fediverse fun. I've always wondered what could be the closest example to a Fediverse clone of Tumblr, so happy that we have Wafrn now (that name is fucking hilarious).

Honestly, I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I've been more social than I ever was on mainstream social media, so there's that. Feels less like I'm shouting into the void in these places.

Likes? Games are my number 1 love, but I also like anime, anything fandom-related (fanfics feed me), learning Japanese (it's really relaxing, when I'm not bored with textbooks anyway), some outdoor activities (I REALLY wanna garden), and other stuff.

I had to dedicate a section to music, as I truly love listening to EDM subgenres, mostly DnB, Jungle, (Kawaii) Future Bass, Acid, Breakcore, etc. but I also like relaxing music like Jazz and Bossa Nova. Also a Vocaloid lover, not super deep into like, knowing every Vocaloid, just like listening to the songs.

Not sure what I'll post, maybe yap about fanfics I'm reading and stuff.
