Exclusive sources reveal to Gaza24Live details of the Israeli targeting of Hamas' office and how its leaders escaped certain death.
■ The targeted Hamas leadership office and residence is located in the upscale "Katara" neighborhood in the center of the Qatari capital, Doha, near several Western embassies, including the Spanish, Kenyan, and Philippine ones.
■ The bombing occurred precisely at 15:35, minutes after the afternoon prayer call, targeting several buildings within the residential complex that houses homes of movement members and leaders.
■ Minutes before the bombing, the movement’s leadership had moved to the prayer hall to perform the afternoon prayer, which helped them survive, as the prayer hall is located far from the office.
■ The Israeli airstrike focused on the office of Hamas’ leader in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, in addition to the security and escort rooms. It is estimated that the missiles were directed based on the signals of the leaders’ phones, which were not in their possession during the bombing but remained with the escorts inside the office, especially since they were in a meeting and left to perform the prayer.
■ The bombing resulted in the martyrdom of approximately 10 people, including Khalil al-Hayya’s son, his office director Jihad Labd, along with several escorts and workers at the site.
