US weather prediction supercomputer reportedly being transferred to an unknown "third party", per NY Times. This is not a "climate change" supercomputer, it's one of the supercomputers used to run the US weather prediction models. 😬
The U.S. National Science Foundation said on Thursday that the management and operations of a supercomputer used by more than 2,000 climate and weather scientists across the country would be transferred from a leading research lab to an undisclosed third party.
Science foundation officials said stewardship of the supercomputer, located at a National Center for Atmospheric Research facility in Cheyenne, Wyo., would “transition to a third-party operator” but declined to give details about the new operator or the timeline.
The national center, known as NCAR, has 835 scientists and engineers at its headquarters in Boulder, Colo., and has managed the Cheyenne facility since it opened in 2012.
The study published last year found that soils under mature pine forests had about half as much carbon as nearby soils that stayed as grassland, and that the carbon lost from the soil was equal to around a third of the carbon that the trees had absorbed from the atmosphere
Here we're combating #climate change and fight #hunger through #planting fruits #trees in schools and other public places. Each child at a certain school in our community was requested to plant a tree on every birth day which world help yo increase the number of trees planted each year.
They can hide, censor, and deny #climate change science but that doesn't change the #science.
They can try to repeal the #Endangerment Finding but that doesn't change the danger.
Reality will always win and history will never forget what they're doing and who is doing it.
President Trump in an executive order directed the Department of Defense to buy electricity from coal-fired power plants, reviving a fuel source in sharp decline.
Coal’s share of U.S. electricity generation has plummeted from 50% in 2000 to roughly 17% in 2025 as natural gas and renewables gain ground.
Coal is relatively inexpensive to produce but is considered the dirtiest fossil fuel, releasing soot air pollution and nearly twice the planet-warming carbon dioxide as natural gas.
It's hard to imagine how dumb supposedly intelligent people can be. How much is it costing to deal with floods, now and in the future + heatwaves + droughts?

“A small group of conservative activists has worked for 16 years to stop all government efforts to fight climate change. Their efforts seem poised to pay off.”
Countries publish data on activities & #carbon emissions. So it's convenient to cluster them to demonstrate relationships.
Today i found that countries from Argentina to Australia via ZA emit methane in the same proportion: from cattle then sheep.
(This does not say anything about their #climate.)

A newly updated reference manual for U.S. judges that provides answers to scientific and technical questions has eliminated some 90 pages about climate science.
New EU rules to stop the destruction of unsold clothes and shoes
“Instead of discarding stock, companies are encouraged to manage their stock more effectively, handle returns, and explore alternatives such as resale, remanufacturing, donations, or reuse.”
US Judiciary deletes a chapter on #climate science in the newest edition of its reference manual on scientific evidence because apparently science is a left-leaning concept and MAGAs complained.
The climate crisis is real, human-created and scary, but we shouldn't give in to the idea that it's too late to do anything at all. Here's Hannah Ritchie's story for MIT Press Reader, adapted from her new book, "Clearing the Air," on what the latest science actually says, and how climate fatalism can put us on a worse trajectory.
> In this review, we take a look back at the UK’s climate in 2025 and place the record-breaking year in the context of human-caused #ClimateChange change.
“The Washington Post’s decision to cut a large share of its climate and environmental reporters is not just a newsroom story…
cuts to environmental journalism thin the information infrastructure societies rely on to recognize risks and respond before harm becomes harder to reverse.”
Cartoon showing an artificial ski slope; a number of snow cannons are maintaining the slope, while the mountains behind, as well as some pine trees to the side, seem to be made from plywood. A giant basin of water is supplying the snow cannons and a large Diesel generator is providing power. Behind the ski slope we see a desert with a caravan of camels; the person leading the camels is looking up a t a large billboard that is advertising the Winter Olympics of 2058.
#Tesla refuses to come to terms with the Swedish labour unions. As a result, nobody is willing to link up their charging stations in the small Swedish town of Vansbro. But Tesla has found a solution.
