I didn't realise gov.uk already had a web page that told you what day of the week it is… nice!

Screenshot, allegedly from gov.uk, showing a webpage that tells the reader what day of the week it currently is. There are options for England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland - although only England and Wales is being displayed. Under where it says “The current day of the week is Tuesday 30 December” there is a table of upcoming days of the week for 2025 and 2026.

I'm thinking and planning on advocating for the Fediverse a lot more due to the UK Online Safety Act. I think it might be best to write it all down as a part not only some flyers that I can get printed and hand out to many people.

This will come with a page on my company website to showcase and explain further why & how they can join the Fediverse.

From the looks of it, OfCom and UK Government are allowed to look at not only your social media but your Emails, Text Messages & listen in on your private calls.

With the new UK Gov Changes to NSFW content as well as how you need to Verify your ID to use lots of sites, I will make it clear that;

  1. The Fediverse is a safe place and can not and will not force people to verify there ID
  2. Because most instances don't count as 'catagroy 1' it means we do not need to verify IDs unless we have thousands of users (internal)
  3. They can't stop all the instances, There are thousands of instances and can not reinforce this.

I highly suggest moving your friends and family over to the Fediverse
