Frankfurt's old town in the evening against the city skyline. The streets of the old town are illuminated by the warm colors of the Christmas market, contrasting beautifully with the blue tones of the rest of the city.
This is a watercolor landscape painting in portrait orientation. The moody sky is the focus taking up 3/4 of the page. The sky starts out a dusky blue with big grayish purpley blue clouds. About 2/3 of the way down the sky shifts to a peachy pink color with wispier purpley
clouds. Dark horizon line is met with a misty tree line and houses with lit windows. The foreground is a snowy landscape with warm blue shadows.

One of my night captures of The Sydney Opera House on a hot balmy night in Sydney on 1st Dec. 2012... just as the lightning struck. The skies were magnificent and the storms were brewing.
The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
The Sydney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007. It is one of the 20th century's most distinctive buildings and one of the most famous performing arts centres in the world.
The Sydney Opera House is on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It sits at the north-eastern tip of the Sydney central business district (the CBD), surrounded on three sides by the harbour (Sydney Cove and Farm Cove) and inland by the Royal Botanic Gardens.

**ACHIEVED 1ST PLACE IN FAA CONTEST - "Cityscapes at Night Photo Contest" June 2021
June 2018, I went into the City of Sydney to view firsthand the spectacular VIVID SYDNEY, a festival of light, patterns, music and ideas.
This image is one of my long exposure photographs of the bright and pretty projections of light over the Sydney skyline captured from the northern Milsons Point side of the harbor under the Harbour Bridge. These colorful projections were continuously changing, illuminating the buildings in various pretty colors, making Sydney Harbour look like a piece of art with all the colorful reflections in the water.
A must see if you are in Sydney late May to mid June. It is held each year.

[From Wikipedia]
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, New South Wales, and Australia. The bridge is nicknamed "The Coathanger" because of its arch-based design.
From incandescent's dim glow
To halogen's efficient brightness
And now LED's blinding rays
We still cannot see clearly
All that we want in the darkness
A close up view of the beautiful Sydney Harbour Bridge during Vivid Sydney festival 2016.
The lights cast on the bridge were changing color every few seconds. I liked the brightness of the red and green on the steel structure with the lights bursting like stars.
I captured this image June 2016 at the Vivid Sydney festival.
