The development of this game will take a lot of time, this year will put it on pause a bit, because in March I decided to make a simpler game first, by the end of the year, but also sci-fi but calmer and for the mind.
The image is the cover of a book titled "Cinco Duros: La historia del videojuego en España para todos 1981-1987 Vol.1" by Diego Vargas Pardo. The artwork is colorful and dynamic, featuring a collection of characters that appear to be from different video game genres and eras. The characters are drawn in a comic book style, with a fantasy warrior, a wizard, a basketball player, and other figures that suggest a diverse range of gaming themes.
In the background, there are floating geometric shapes and a pixellated cursor hand, alluding to classic gaming icons. The title "Cinco Duros," which is a reference the cost of playing an arcade game in Spain, as "duro" is an old Spanish five-peseta coin, invoking nostalgia for the early days of arcade gaming.
The cover indicates that the book is a historical account of the video game industry in Spain during the years 1981 to 1987, aiming to be accessible to a wide audience.
Hey fellow #gamedevs I have a question. Have you ever reused code, prefabs and such from the past without overhauling them (little tweaks excepted)?
In the past I saved lots of template menus, managing scripts and such only to completely redo them in the next project because I improved in my workflow and coding abilities, or because the new project has different circumstances.
