America: where 30 percent of the population will murder the other 30 percent while the centrist 30 percent watches. AND IT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. GET IN THE STREETS. GRIND THE GEARS OF CRAPITALISM TO A HALT. EITHER WITH OUR BODIES OR WITH THEIRS! #politics#capitalism#calltoaction#eattherich
Teen Vogue has now been folded into Vogue, and all politics reporters, all Black women and all trans people working there were fired on Monday (11/3/25) morning.
That is, none of the people who made Teen Vogue a surprisingly effective civics communication vehicle remain with the magazine.
If you or someone in your family has a subscription, now it's a good time to explain what boycotts are and what they can do.
Bluesky posts by Lex McMenamin (they/them) @lexmcmenamin.com:
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
Certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
Today's information came out piecemeal, and people should be able to share their own situations on their own time, but I could share this much, as it is pretty cut and dry on the facts.
Teen Vogue also no longer has any trans staffers as of today.
Last week, people got swastikas in their notifications, because Substacks algorithm was recommending top Nazi newsletters. That's where your views and subscriptions money go: to fund Nazis.
If you have a newsletter (or know someone who has one) on Substack, please pass this link on: soon they won't be able to port their paid subscriptions off to a different platform, because Apple will be handing the money. They must act ASAP to get off the Nazi propaganda platform to an alternative.
The new Harry Potter show is upon us, and while there's debate as to how much JK Rowling is involved in the running of the show, the fact remains: it's her IP. It makes money, she makes money.
If you watch it, if you buy HP merch, if you visit the HP park attractions, if you make others curious to watch it, etc., you are funding this TERF's persecution of trans people.
On April 3, 2025, Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, Macmillan Publishers, Simon & Schuster, and Sourcebooks sent a letter to Congress in support of the Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS) following Executive Order 14238, signed on March 14, which calls for the dismantling of IMLS. HarperCollins is notably missing from this list of publishers.
We demand to know why HarperCollins did NOT sign this letter and what they plan to do to support IMLS and all libraries moving forward.
Author and AABB member Michael Leali has drafted an open letter to HarperCollins with this request. We need signatures from authors, illustrators, librarians, booksellers, literary agents, educators, and industry professionals in support of this message. If you are willing to add your name to the list of signees, please complete this form by Monday, April 21, 2025.
Following the man-baby’s Tariff announcement, I think the rest of the world should immediately:
start a consumer boycott of anything American;
move their exports from America to other nations (with Government assistance);
start making new trade agreements in Euro rather than $US;
uninvite the man-baby and his various toadies from all future international meetings; and
stop passing all forms of intelligence to the USA.
This is the moment to cross our arms and turn our backs on the USA - show them there is a real cost to voting a man-baby into office and sit back and watch them tear themselves apart.
Graphic from the Society of Author; on a pale green field, there's an illustration of a diverse crowd of people (various races, ages, abilities) holding protest signs that read, Book Thieves, Make it Fair, Do the Write Thing, and Compensation for Creators.
There is also text between the logo at the top and the illustration at the bottom, with a sign with a hand signaling to stop and the text, "Meta must do the write thing"
