Steam testuje nowy wygląd sklepu. Ma być łatwiej znaleźć interesujące gry

Platforma Steam rozpoczęła testy przeprojektowanego menu swojego sklepu cyfrowego. Nowy wygląd, dostępny obecnie dla uczestników programu Steam Client Beta, ma na celu uproszczenie nawigacji i ułatwienie graczom odkrywania nowych gier.

Główną zmianą jest zastąpienie obecnego, zatłoczonego układu linków tekstowych przez bardziej uporządkowane menu na górze strony. Nowe przyciski pozwalają na szybkie przeglądanie gier według kategorii takich jak bestsellery czy nowości, a także na dostęp do spersonalizowanych rekomendacji opartych na bibliotece i czasie gry użytkownika. Dedykowany przycisk kategorii pozwala z kolei na przeglądanie ulubionych gatunków i sugerowanych tagów.

Przebudowano również funkcję wyszukiwania, która teraz domyślnie pokazuje najpopularniejsze hasła, ostatnio oglądane gry i najczęściej wybierane gatunki. Jak zauważają twórcy, żadna z tych funkcji nie jest nowa, ale odświeżony wygląd sklepu ma sprawić, że dostęp do nich będzie znacznie łatwiejszy.

W oficjalnym wpisie na blogu Steam stwierdzono, że celem zmian jest „uczynienie doświadczenia płynniejszym i bardziej dopasowanym do potrzeb” oraz ułatwienie dostępu do najczęściej odwiedzanych miejsc na platformie. Aktualizacja interfejsu pojawia się jednak w czasie, gdy część społeczności wyraża niezadowolenie z powodu niedawnej zmiany polityki Steama, która doprowadziła do usunięcia z platformy wielu gier z treściami dla dorosłych.

Nowy wygląd sklepu pozostaje na razie w fazie testów. Gracze, którzy chcą go wypróbować i podzielić się swoją opinią, mogą to zrobić, dołączając do programu Steam Client Beta w ustawieniach klienta platformy.

I will "officially" open registrations for a closed beta at the end of May to those interested in joining. This is following an earlier alpha version that a few fedizens have actually tried including @cR0w and @jerry . (Trying it doesn't obviously mean they liked it!) ;-)

This is my personal solution to a long-standing issue I've had with more and more low-quality articles being pushed to even high-quality sources. But now I'm turning it into a full-blown SaaS-application (kind of) and specifically target cybersecurity individuals. Too many solutions are aimed at companies with multi-million dollar budget. This doesn't compete with that... but I'm pretty confident it will provide significant benefit and value to those of you trying to keep up-to-date with the daily RSS-feed flow.

I believe I've built something pretty decent and at least to the point where I feel I can rely almost entirely on my Cyber Espresso feeds to surface the "good" content.
