"3. Complete print traceability
The system keeps a record of everything that's printed, including who printed it, what was printed, and even where they were when it was printed. If someone does manage to print a gun, the authorities will be able to identify and trace any instances of printing gun-related material."
Maybe that sounds paranoid to some (who haven't been paying attention to things like Ring cameras), but keep in mind, this is a corporation with stockholders. If they can include their code into your net connected machine, then they can update it to upload the camera feed. Now all it takes is someone willing to pay.
Maybe you're printing guns, maybe you're printing dildos, maybe you're just printing figurines of trademarked characters. I'm sure Disney won't expect a licensing fee for that adorable Grogu you just printed for your neice.
I moved to a new instance, here's my re- #introduction
Hello people. I'm Ari, although I'm better known by my nick APz or apzpins in the social media.
I'm an IT guy by day, dedicating my free time to keep #pinball alive. My hobby has turned from owning a single game at home to an #arcade full of them over the years. Originally a very active tournament player, but in the past years I've been leaning more and more to the restoration and maintenance of the games. I especially love early solid state pins.
I'm a very #DIY -spirited person, often having to come up with creative ways to fix something that's been long obsolete. I do a lot of #3dprinting, tabletop #cnc and #laser'ing, among other things.
In addition to pinball machines, I'm into mechanical and video arcade games, #retrocomputing, owning plenty of machines from Commodore, Atari, PCs and old servers.
I mostly post in English, but I'll reply in other languages where I can, I can do #Finnish and conversational #Spanish.
I love animals and I often post pictures of my whisker faces.
A selfie of me, a Finnish guy in 40s, wearing a black T-shirt that says "Hopeakuula". There's a large Elvira's House of Horrors pinball banner in the background.
Alright boppers, Forged Path Miniatures' Iron Depths puts 50+ post-apocalyptic gang miniatures on your resin printer. Multiple themed gangs for hive-city skirmishes and industrial turf wars. Campaign ends yesterday, can you dig it? #Kickstarter#Miniatures#3DPrintinghttps://l.d20.ninja/u3ZK3d
A collection of post-apocalyptic sci-fi gang miniatures is displayed, showcasing various dynamic figures designed for skirmish battles. The miniatures, rendered in a gray color, include characters with distinct features such as bulky armor, weapons, and unique poses, emphasizing their gritty aesthetic. The title "IRON DEPTHS" is prominently featured at the top, along with a badge indicating the campaign was funded in hours, and a "KICKSTARTER" tag in the bottom corner.
After far too long without painting for fun, because of unemployment and because exterminators need access to the baseboards, I am, at long last, back on my bullshit.
An unfinished diorama of a swamp scene, featuring a Centurion battlemech facing off against a giant toad samurai mounted on a giant frog halfway between tadpole and fully grown. The battlemech is taken from Mechwarrior Dark Age, so it stands about 3.5 inches in height, and the samurai is substantially larger even without the classical samurai banner strapped to their back.
Now the ground has been painted, a number of touch-ups are done, and one bit of foliage has been eliminated on account of it snapping completely off while being stored for the exterminator.
We keep prototyping our Forest in a Box and we’re now at stage 0.2. The first iteration felt much more like a contemplative object than an actual game, so we began adjusting the balance by removing some animals and introducing new elements with clearer play potential. Next, we’ll focus on defining the sizes and relationships between the pieces.
A sleek, 3D-printable display case designed for collectors, featuring a black exterior with angular lines and a vibrant red base. The case is shown from a slightly elevated angle, highlighting its modular design and snap-fit assembly, which requires no tools. The text "3D-PRINTABLE. DISPLAY CASE." is prominently displayed, along with a "PROJECT WE LOVE" badge from Kickstarter.
Collectible brick figures for the defending Brazilian and South American champions are now available in the Etsy store. Choose from two skin tones or add a personalized name and number to the back of your figure.

Apparently the Washington state legislature has decided the best way to protect you under current circumstances is to make your 3d printer (and CNC machine, etc, etc) spy on you so you can't print anything dangerous!
I don't care how you feel about gun control, making your devices spy on you is not an acceptable solution.
Washington residents should call their reps. They may not be particularly useful, but at least they can be told not to make everything worse!
Hey Washington, there's a profoundly bad law making its way through the state level.
This law, will require ALL 3d printers to send copies of the files you print directly to the government to be check against a database of "banned shapes".
Literally turning your 3d printer into spyware. And if you don't voluntarily turn your printer into a spy, you will be a class C Felon.
New 3D Printer use unlocked: Recently, I was playing with my nephew with his Brio trains, and I was frustrated that I couldn’t get the track layout I wanted to work with the pieces he had. I was looking at track packs online when it hit me, I can make any piece I want! With a little learning and a little work, I can make any piece I can think of!
I wish I’d had this when my son was little and playing with those trains. #Trains#Toys#3dPrinting
A five-way branching piece of Brio-style toy train track on a white background. The track apes the appearance of the wooden toy tracks, but is actually made of 3D printed, wood-infused PLA.
