A decade ago, libre comic fonts were hard to find, especially with good accent support. So, translators, contributors and I edited and maintained our own to fill the gap.

In general, I appreciate the many inspiring interactions we have here om Mastodon. But recently I have received at least 10 replies, that are all variations of the sentence "Trump should be killed".

I fully understand the resentment against a criminal person who is tearing a country apart, but I am a firm believer that the answer to his crimes is not more crimes, but instead more justice.

Trump must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Win the midterms decisively. Then impeach him.

Chinese tech company DJI launches a robot vacuum with built in cameras and advertises that you can call up the vacuum from anywhere and look around your home.

On their website, they even found it relevant to show the vacuum looking around someone’s bedroom.

Let’s recap: China + camera = suveillance in your bedroom.

That’s a hard pass.

I get that people may think that Loops is simply a TikTok clone.

But a clone wouldn't ship 26k LoC to add ActivityPub support*, publish all source code under AGPL, or support full data export and migration.

Most TikTok competitors are driven by financial motives, whereas Loops isn't.

This matters. A lot.

You can't serve two masters — either you serve your people, or you serve the money.

It has been three years of hard work, but finally my YouTube channel is showing some promising results:

130,500 views in the past month.

It has helped tremendously that I have cut down the length of my videos. My new 10-15 minute format seems to reach a much wider audience than my 40 minute videos ever did.

Thank you to @anderspuck for suggesting that I made this change. 🙏🏻

As with everything in life, it is invaluable to talk to people who are walking further down the road you are traveling.

Y en ese caso no hay más remedio que protegerse.
Las capacidad de correr de una gacela es costosa, el caparazón de una tortuga es costoso y las espinas de un erizo también son costosas. Sin embargo no hay gacelas lentas y eficientes, ni tortugas sin caparazón, ni erizos sin espinas.

    Anyone who goes through my post history, knows I work for Meta (Facebook).

    I am "Consumer Content Administrative Manager". My primary duties include content appeals, account appeals, account reviews, and some peer review.

    It is no surprise that my job depends on people using Facebook. Today, I am going to suggest, you not do so. I can make that suggestion because we have a user base of billions, and I know most people would keep using Facebook even if the Devil ran the company. People are strange.

    But if you feel you can truly live without Facebook, do so. Internally, things are changing, and not for the better. You should especially consider leaving Meta if you are a minority, woman, LGBTQ+, trans, or identify as progressive, politically. If facts matter to you, and misinformation is something you do not want to be subject toward, you should especially consider leaving, Facebook.

    You have no privacy from Meta, while using Meta. None. I do not care if you believe you disabled a "feature" or "opt out" of something. You only seem to have done so. And even if you're going to continue to use Meta, uninstall the app (all of them). We collect data on you, even when you're not using the app.
