Libervia CLI Tip 16:

You need to modify many pubsub items? li pubsub transform is there to help.

It uses an executable (e.g., shell or Python script), gives it each item as input, and replaces it with the returned item. Use DELETE to retract the item, and SKIP to ignore it.

Very handy if you, e.g., moved an URL and need to update all your blog posts, change a tag, or do any kind of massive modification.

Libervia lead dev here. XMPP do support e2ee, and has several options if you want to use PFS or not (OMEMO vs OX). It is an open standard, and avoid ambiguity. And it does a lot (chat, blogging/microblogging, comments, calendar events, file sharing, A/V calls, etc).

And there are gateways to other protocols such as ActivityPub, email, IRC, or proprietary platforms (with Slidge).

Servo is considering:

  • allowing some AI tools for non-code contributions

  • allowing maintainers to use GitHub Copilot for some code contributions over the next 12 months

These changes are planned to take effect in June 2025, but we want your feedback. More details:

@servo wow such a shitstorm, so much agressivity, insults, threatening when they ask openly and transparently the opinion of the community. You could just say "no" with reasoning in a respectful way. Imagine the person taking that in the face. That's really sad.

Are we, even here, in a world of violence where sane debate is not possible anymore?

Samsy @arbocenc@kfem.cat avatar arbocenc can run bridges (called "Transports" or "Gateways" in XMPP terms) since the early ages. And nowadays, there are modern ones with tight integrations: being a flagship (including a gateway), and I'm myself working on ActivityPub gateway and soon a email one with . is also working on SMTP gateway. And is the flagship gateway.

@delirious_owl@discuss.online avatar delirious_owl If I'm not mistaken, Slidge, Libervia and Biboumi are on Debian. Not sure about Cheogram SMTP gateway.

@debacle@framapiaf.org avatar debacle is maintaining most of them.
