Most YouTubes use 10x different titles for a video and change them every say 30min to see which one gets the most clicks.

Veratasium did a great video about this, and why he's also forced to do it to survive the YT algorithm

Very nice 👌 I strongly considered them but ended up going with Migadu

I think infomaniak is the better solution for most people, their UX seems good.

Migadu is cheap AF, I pay 19€ a year.

And I can use my own domain and unlimited email address (so I can switch my whole family over for that amount)

I also love their No BS approach, they even list the drawbacks of using Migadu as one of the main links on their site

Sport has always had devisions and you need to draw lines who is and isn't allowed in a devision.

Example:
Under 21 years old
Undee 80kg
Handicapped
Ober 40 years old
Women's
Etc.

You can't just let anyone compete in any devision else you don't have devisions, and you need to draw lines where those devisions begin and end.

All I'm saying is IMO when it comes to the Women's devision, it's shouldn't be black and white.

Ig Nutomic really hasn't changed his stance on their infamous DM and this time, it was on a public thread

On any of the donation threads where it came up and he replied to it, the most he ever did was some half hearted corporate PR "apology" (ironic) ...

A screenshot of a convo between @db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com and @nutomic@lemmy.ml discussing nutomic's past transphobia, and nutomic blatantly dismisses it without addressing how and why what he did/said was wrong.

The topic of trans women in sports is a complex one and not black and white.

If Usain Bolt identified as a women and underwent the required procedures (not sure what that would be if any)
Should he be allowed to compete in women's sports?

I watch John Oliver a lot I like his content and agree with the vast majority of what he says.

I also like watching right wing stuff so I don't end up in a echo chamber, I find most right wing stuff rediculous. But there's some crazy thigns happening that I wouldn't be aware of if I didn't watch it so I'm glad I do/did

    From what I've heard they use .ml as their test server and not donations to keep the lights on there.

    Do we have any idea of how much they use to support .ml ?

    If they can clear this up, it might help people.

    I do not agree with their political view etc. but I can see that the development of Lemmy is a net positive.

    Shutting down .ml won't save them much money, it doesn't cost much to run a instance, developing software instead of having a tech job on the other hand...

    Lemmy needs more donations ( join-lemmy.org )

    An open source project the size of Lemmy needs constant work to manage the project, implement new features and fix bugs. Dessalines and I work full-time on these tasks and more. As there is no advertising or tracking, all of our work is funded through donations. Unfortunately the amount of donations has decreased to only 2000€ ...

    I don't see the use case for a RaspberryPi 5 unless you plan on using the pins.

    You can buy a more powerful Mini PC for 90€ from AliExpress

    To get a Pi5 to the same specs It'll cost you double if not more

    I tried out Immich, but I prefer Nextcloud Memories.

    Nextcloud also replaces a lot of other Google services like Docs, Drive etc.

    And it's very stable and solid.

    You can host it yourself, but you can also pay for it there are many hosts like Hetzner for 4$ per month + tax

    I used to split my drive in half to dual boot. But I've never booted back into windows since installing Linux Mint.

    Should have just wiped the drive and installed Linux

    That data comes from a survey of only 1250 people.

    That's a really small sample size considering there is likely 10 billion+ active email addresses.

    I'm currently using 5 email address weekly (2 for work and 3 for personal use)

    Two of those are gmail (trying to move away)

    But you have a really good point, I'll look for data on this
