Random spikey derg speedsculpt and first personal piece in months. I really needed to do a piece without any pressure. The freedom feels good :blobfoxhappy:

Also made me realise, if I work without ref, my dragon heads always come out like bulky old school t-rex heads. Guess I need to study reptile anatomy more. :blobfoxlaughsweat:

Some work-in-progress impressions of my giraffe, created in SDF Modeler (see previous posts for more info).

As you can see, SDF modeling is predominantly blending primitive shapes and performing Boolean operations on them.

The final hippo rendering. 🙂

Sorry for the repost. I noticed that a tooth was situated almost exactly behind another tooth, causing an odd edge. Once I saw that, I could not unsee it, and needed to change it. 😅

His journey went from Unbound (SDF modeling) to ZBrush (some sculpted details) to Blender (Cycles rendering).

Then, a bit of post-processing in Affinity Photo and PhotoScape X (Pro).

Switched from ZBrush to 3D-Coat and ultimately Blender to sculpt and render this scene, and modeled the Pokeball in 🙂
