Rainbow sunflower is a watercolor painting in vertical format painted by artist Karen Kaspar. A happy yellow and orange sunflower is growing on a colorful background in vibrant shades of pink, purple and blue.
The first time I ever took a photo of a double rainbow was August 5, 2010, 15 years ago. This was taken from the steps of the Utah State Capital Building, where we were celebrating California's Prop 8 being struck down with a rally.
These twin rainbows were definitely a gift from The Universe, at that moment of divine queer history unfolding. And now again in this moment - as I remember that one with love and pride. 💜🌈☮️🥰
A photo taken with my phone on August 15, 2010, in Salt Lake City, UT, on the occasion of California's Prop 8 being struck down as unconstitutional. This photo of the cloudy sky above the rally has sunbeams peeking through some fluffier, white clouds, with mostly stormy, darker clouds to the left, and in the distant horizon. The frame features a double rainbow, with the more prominent arc reaching from the bottom right of the photo, across the center to the top left corner. A less bright rainbow follows the same arc, just slightly above and to the right of the other. The tip (umm, nipple?) of a building across the way peeks into the photo, just between where the rainbows meet the bottom edge of the photo.

A rainbow spills across the sky like a gentle promise, stretching over the rugged peaks of Banff National Park and pouring its color into the wild Canadian air. Below, Peyto Lake glows in breathtaking shades of turquoise and blue, its luminous waters shaped by ancient glaciers and kissed with the fine mineral silt that makes it shine like a jewel.

Dark evergreen forests gather along the shoreline, their rich tones framing the lake’s brilliance and drawing the eye toward the sweeping curves of the valley beyond. The storm has passed, but its presence still lingers in the softened light and drifting clouds, creating a moment that feels both powerful and peaceful at the same time.
In this scene, God’s creation feels close and undeniable. The mountains stand with quiet strength, the lake reflects a beauty too perfect to be accidental, and the rainbow becomes a signature of grace across the heavens. It is a reminder that even after the rain, the world is still filled with wonder, and the Creator is still painting with light.
A picture of several teacup candles in two rows on a wood butcherblock style surface. Each one is a rainbow, one is a UV rainbow. A pitcher candle with rainbow stripes wax and another pitcher with witchy green wax are off to the side. An actual cup of tea is visible in the corner as well. It is an oolong (Jin Xuan from Alishan, Taiwan)
A color landscape photo of a flat sagebrush covered plain with jagged sandstone spires in the distance. The sun had just broke over a mesa top and was lighting the sandstone features across the plain. Part of a rainbow juts up on the left and disappears out of the frame. The sky is covered in dark clouds.
A color landscape photo of a rainbow over a desert canyon area. A river is on the right. In the lower left is a small part of a cliff edge. A flat flood plain dotted with parallel lines of shrubs extends out from the foreground to a low canyon wall in the distance. A high arched rainbow extends from the river on the right to the flood plain on the far left. Parts of a second rainbow are seen above the main rainbow on the left and right. The light is much brighter under the main rainbow than above it.
Photograph taken from the passenger seat of a car on the freeway, driving straight toward the lower arc of a rainbow. The rainbow appears to end at the tire spray from the 4x4 pickup truck ahead.
(I digitally painted over any visible license plate numbers, which is why the cars nearest to the viewer have blank plates.)
This pastel painting is a view from the ferry leaving Arran. There were very large clouds that day and a rainbow across the land, which was a magical sight.
A pastel painting of a view of the isle of Arran from a ferry out at sea. There are large clouds in the bleu sky and there is a subtle rainbow across the island.
With just a light drizzle happening Summer and I decided that we better skitter down the hill to fill up the little food pantry. We have been doing our best to get there every day with soups, canned meats, nuts, pasta, cereal and protein drinks.
Today the universe smiled on us.
A rainbow appeared just as we shut the doors on our food offering to our neighbors.
Sometimes it feels good to be exactly where you are supposed to be at the time you are supposed to be there. #Rainbow
A little food cupboard with rusty doors in a park. There is a rainbow and clouds in the distance.
A light rainbow over a river. In the foreground, a single bare tree. The sky's blue but pink near the horizon. Just to the left can be seen the faint outline of a second bow.
A large crocheted basket I made out of yarn and cotton cording, then attached to a wire frame hamper for structure. It's about 16"x22" and the yarn colors transition from aqua at the top, to: lavender, purple, red, orange, yellow, green, blue-green, and finally blue at the bottom. CC BY-SA 4.0 Kate Zimmerman.

I got obsessed with painting Capybaras in January of 2024 because I love their cuteness, calm, and peacefulness. Can't believe how many paintings I've made! Proud of each and every one of them!
