"WANTED, Girl to wear stretch pants in pits during coming motorcycle road-racing season. Must be able to turn stop watches off and on, and must also be able to turn rider mostly on."
from the classified ads in Helix, a #Seattle underground newspaper, February 1968. The others are rather spicy too....
Portion of a typewritten page with "unclassified" ads in boxes. They include a magazine that explores "the world of transvestism," a married couple seeking partners for swinging, and a plea for Judi to call her mother
Opisy w alt-tekstach do obrazków.
Audi? To nie pomyłka - cztery kółka obok siebie to pierwotny znak koncernu Auto Union, którego Audi i DKW były częściami.
Hello Mastodon 👋 I’m a Redis + NoSQL enthusiast who loves building fast, scalable data systems.
When I’m not optimizing latency, you’ll find me editing audio/video projects or out on the motorcycle chasing curves. #Redis#NoSQL#Motorcycles#AudioVideo#Introduction
A person is standing on a snowy slope, wearing sunglasses and winter sports gear. They are holding a ski pole and have a purple ski on one foot. The background features distant mountains and a cloudy sky, indicating a mountainous landscape.
Trying to work out what has changed because I’m riding sand sooooooo much better than usual today. Even the Heacham Deep Sand Trail From Hell was easy!!
I commuted by motorcycle year-round in the Pacific Northwest for 37 years, and endorse almost everything in this article. You can be safe, but it requires a lot more focus than driving a car. Many days, my commute was the best part of the day.
I'd recommend a dual-sport bike, though, for visibility, conspicuity, and nimbleness. And as for costs, you save on gas but that's balanced a bit by paying a lot more for tires.
My friend getting ready to buy a motorcycle -had a training session on mine (she's all licenced up and had some hours with instructor to recall skills from past ;). #motorcycles#royalenfield#motorcycle
A photo of royal Enfield thunderbird with rider, looking all fierce and stuff
New bike day was exciting, tiring, and ultimately a great success!
Drive to Dad, drive to bike, bike back to Dad's, bike and car back home, drop Dad back to his, drive back...... Seven hours later, we're all home.
Absolutely lovely.
Ready for the trip to Brands Hatch for BSB this weekend!
Okay folks, this is my second to last post on Bikers.Social. Since this instance is shutting down, I've made a new Mastodon instance for motorcyclists called "The Moto Network". It can be found at https://social.themoto.network
I've copied the server description and rules from Bikers.Social but I'll make them our own as time goes on.
I finally got my partner to jump on the back of my motorcycle and come for a ride. 🎉
She's never been on a bike before, and never learned how to ride a bicycle either, so this is very new to her and a bit daunting.
She had a really tight grip on me at first, but gradually started to relax as we rode around the neighbourhood a bit. Maximum speed was about 80 km/hr (50 mph).
Overall, she enjoyed it and wants to come out for some short rides. 💪🏻
The image depicts a gathering of motorcyclists in an outdoor setting, likely at a motorcycle event. In the foreground, several motorcycles are parked, showcasing a variety of models and colors, including black, red, white, and yellow. The motorcycles are arranged in rows, with some facing the camera and others angled away. The ground is paved, and shadows cast by the motorcycles and people suggest it is either early morning or late afternoon.
In the background, a large brick building with arched windows and a sign reading "DREKKER" is visible. The building appears to be a repurposed industrial structure, possibly a former train station or warehouse. Several people are standing and walking around, some engaged in conversation, while others are inspecting the motorcycles.
Motorcycle captcha again...
I was about to make another joke on the motorcycle captcha, and this happened ...
