Well, since complaining about my #linuxmint install occasionally crashing the video driver in a very ostentatious way, it has moved to more regularly crashing the video driver in a "both monitors lose signal" way.
It seems to happen whenever the driver is put under any amount of load, even things like playing youtube. My only hope is the assurance that the newer amdgpu driver is getting support for my older GCN 1.0 card.
Been using the Cinnamon version of #linuxmint after spending some years using the Xfce one.
I was noticing Cinnamon wasn't as responsive right from the start, but when I booted up a VM with Min 21.2 Xfce to test some things, the difference in how fast it responds to commands was glaring.
Will go back to Xfce when I need to update the computer, which I hope doesn't take another 2~3 years.
Wariant 1: Aktualizacja do #LMDE7 i prawdopodobnie dalszy spokój.

Keine Panik, c't 3003 hilft beim Einstieg.
I’ve been using Windows, MacOS, and Linux for thirty years now.
Since Microsoft ditched Windows 98, I considered MacOS the high bar, with Windows gradually getting worse and Linux gradually getting better.
However, after the latest MacOS 26.2 and Linux Mint 22.3 updates, I now think that, judging the operating systems alone, not the accompanying software, Mint has overtaken MacOS.
It’s minimalistic yet functional and aesthetically pleasing. It’s fast, intuitive, and I haven’t encountered a single glitch or freeze. And that’s on a machine seven years older than my Mac, which is now riddled with unnecessary features that clog up resources but bring nothing functional nor are aesthetically appealing.
To every single person who has dedicated their time to this free and open-source project—KUDOS! 🫡
