Jon Favreau: Trump "is publicly ordering prosecutions that he admits are politically motivated. He tried to steal both an election and highly classified state secrets, he was held accountable for breaking the law. If you say things the president and his party don't like, you could lose your job or your money or your freedom. If you pledge loyalty or give money, you can commit whatever crimes you'd like. This is clearly an impeachable offense."
If Trump was held accountable he would be in prison.
R.I.P. Mr #Kirk, social media and university debate preacher of #hate. Shooting him made him a #martyr for sure. So if they did it to stop his #reactionary poison be spread I don’t see a chance it worked. Thus they committed a #crime and became #guilty for nought. I mean, Kirk is guilty of #instigation, but a victim’s guilt is never an excuse nor a justification.
When Dietrich #Bonhoeffer gave his two cents in the discussion if assassinating Hitler was ethically permitted he said they were guilty either way: Let the #Nazis go on with their #Fascist agenda, murdering millions of human bodies and souls, or, kill the Fuehrer. So, he said, if killing one spared many humans’ lifes he would choose to kill the one. But, he continued, an isolated tyrannicide wasn’t wise politically, because killing the head alone wouldn’t stop the Fascist machine. (All paraphrased by me)
Kirk wasn’t as important as Hitler, of course, but the same weighing of the real political effect should have been done here.
