Dad is alive, talking, on an IV. He was hit by a car crossing a street wearing all dark colors at about 11:00pm. Just for the record, I have pleaded with him to wear the reflective vest I gave him. He refuses to wear it. Now isnt the time to give him an I told you saw.
The security camera alerted me to a car in his driveway. That is odd.
I see him walk in. His balance was off.
I turn on the microphone. The person said something about checking on him. He gave the person his number.
I wait for him to come close to a security camera and yell for him to pick up a phone. He picks up a device (not his phone) and sent a badly typed message.
"I need you
please come over
i was hi by a car and my phone is destroyed"
I live 2 miles away. Grabbed my sister and went to him. There is a knot in the center of his face several scratches. His speech was off.
I just had a memory of a sun dial my father made and gave to me. I didn't really know him. He moved across the country after my parents divorced, when I was 7 or so. I wonder where it is now. I think my mom threw it away along with all of my belongings at a moment when we weren't speaking. I feel like I lost everything before France in a fire and not much is left of that time. It really messes with your head to have no trace of who you were before 27. #memories#parents#immigrant#family
I am not bringing mom back to this dentists. She can keep this dentist if she wants, but she needs to find her own way to get here.
She refuses to use the dentist close to her. Note that I have been using that dentist for 20+ years. They are fine. But she has this fiction stuck in her mind that the location only hires dentist in training. That isn't true.
There is a day where people can get free cleanings from dentist in training (Available once a month).
Might be relevant that mom grew up poor, and she has within her a tendency to grab whatever she can get for free. So she took up the "deal" to get a free teeth cleaning and did not like the experience.
I've informed her that is not their normal level of service. But she has an inability to retain that memory. Mom is in her mid 70s, and I think she is developing cognitive challenges. There are a number of fictions she has adopted that I cannot remove from her.
A Spanish-language immersion daycare in a leafy residential neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago was raided by federal immigration agents on Wednesday & a #teacher was taken away, panicking #school administrators & #parents of #infants, #toddlers & pre-k #children at the center, a staff worker at the daycare told Reuters.
Two years of #genocide, unimaginable horrors, and losses - a displaced #Palestinian woman is carrying her little child and a plastic bag filled with what's left of her belongings.
5-year olds having #Instagram accounts is as healthy to them as showing Deathwatch to some 7-yr old kid or giving 9 year olds a HDD with Terabytes of Pr0n.
following on from my previous post:
to all #parents but #men in particular; be a proper adult father & teach your self, & then your kids how to #meditate.
then deal with the #ManInTheMirror. there might be a little boy in there who needs your love & attention - as many of you suffer #GenerationalEmotionalNeglect, like myself..
