This very small pastel painting is from a photo I took from a bus through the highlands. I don't know the name of this beautiful spot, but the artwork hangs in my studio.
The only thing to add that's not in the post text already is that the sun's rays have given the bug a blue aura that make is look like it's glowing all on its own.
The striking volcanic slope of Ljotipollur in the highlands of Iceland displays vibrant hues of red and yellow. The rich colors contrast with the deep blue of the water below. Other mountain ranges in the background.

Dynamic, almost surreal scene. The light dances on the landscape, highlighting the contrast between the illuminated cloud formations and the shadowed terrain below.
Say what you want, but I was lucky to have one of the best driving jobs there are: going to the most remote and beautiful places in Scotland. Places that other people pay really big money sometimes to go to.
4 years ago my "truckstop" for the night was a pier in Driminin, in Morvern, where I spent a nice night at the bonfire with some campervanners.
A scenic view of a winding river flowing through rocky terrain, surrounded by rolling hills covered in golden grasses and patches of snow. The sky is overcast with dark clouds.
A dramatic sunset over the Icelandic Highlands, with a winding path leading into a vast open valley of golden grass and volcanic hills. The sky is filled with swirling, fiery clouds painted in shades of orange, pink, and deep blue, creating a dynamic, almost surreal scene. Just wanted to share this photo from our vacations in the Scottish #highlands
We have it as a print on the wall as well. I really want to go there again ... just doing some hillwalking - exploring the rugged landscape, the wind in the face ....
A serene landscape featuring a path winding through a lush grassy area, flanked by two trees. The dominant colors in the scene are various shades of grey, creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere. The image showcases a beautiful outdoor setting with a clear sky and clouds in the background. The trees, one located in the foreground and the other in the distance, add a touch of wilderness to the scene. The composition highlights the natural beauty of the environment, with mountains visible in the far-off horizon. The overall feeling is one of tranquility and connection with nature.

This little pastel was a view from the bus on he way up to Glencoe from Glasgow. You could take so many beautiful snapshots of views on the road through the highlands of Scotland.
It now hangs framed in my studio.
