So far Brexit looks to have cost the UK between 4-6% GDP per capita, with the negative impact continuing to compound as GDP growth remains weak compared to similar countries.
This chart should be shown each time Nigel Farage tries to make out its been a success (or if not, its not his fault). Brexit was clearly his project, its clearly cost the UK dear (in economic terms) & he should be reminded of this fact continually & publicly
Chart: UK GDP compared to similar countries before & after Brexit Referendum.
Shows UK GDP broadly in the middle of similar countries' trend then sinking to below the aggregated range fo comports counties

@ChrisMayLA6 He should be held liable, not just accountable. The #BBC blames the current economic woes on everything except #Brexit, which is the root cause of the mess.
As the BBC prepares to appoint a new Director General, Anne McElvoy hopes (demands?) this will be the time that a DG takes the problem of women's roles in the state broadcaster seriously.
Women, as has been established, suffer from both ageism & sexism in the allocation of public-facing roles at the BBC. Can a new DG reverse this prejudice or will it look like a secondary task compared to 'saving' the BBC (when, of course it its actually part of it).
I don't understand why the adverts for the UK TV licence that are beong played on BBC Radio 4 include the statement that the licence also covers you to listen to Radio 4.
When I last looked, you did not need a TV licence to listen to the radio.
Has something changed?
It's hard to imagine how dumb supposedly intelligent people can be. How much is it costing to deal with floods, now and in the future + heatwaves + droughts?
To the surprise of absolutely no-one, woman with torn ACL crashes out of the #WinterOlympicGames -nine days after previously being airlifted off a mountain. What on earth was she thinking, and why did no-one try to stop her?
Uhoh. They did this with podcasting...I am one of the first UK podcasters (Radio Clash, started Nov 2004), I used to get fairly good downloads - thousands per episode - I don't know totally cos I was using a free unlimited webspace for the biggest 2 years where I couldn't see logs! Press etc.
Then iTunes and BBC swanned into podcasting, and drowned us all out with refried rebadged slop. They are still doing it. It was bad for me and a lot of independent podcasters - most of them podfaded.
Problem is: there's a massive walled garden around BBC Production or any of the major broadcasters - they and other broadcasters look down on YouTube (they didn't like my YT portfolio on my other channel when I was applying for edit jobs many years ago) and totally missed the boat. Tiny violins.
So yes, I responded to the survey, making it very clear how I don't want this or some of the other oversight they want over the Beeb, it's all presented as a 'good thing' but it's bullshit. 1/N
If i turn on the Tele and see one more program talking about smegging Traitors, i shall scream. Enough #bbc, the show is cheap crap. Anyway just noticed the time, so I'm behind on #totp
Crowds rallied outside BBC headquarters in London Friday night, calling out the network for ignoring Iran’s nationwide uprising.
Many in the crowd were from the UK’s Iranian diaspora, waving Lion and Sun flags and demanding the BBC cover the massive protests now sweeping over 100 cities in Iran.
Speakers slammed the double standard: the BBC claims to stand for global coverage and human rights, but stays silent while Iranians risk their lives for both. #AureFreePress#News#press#bbc

BBC 'bans' journalists from saying US 'kidnapped' Venezuela's Maduro
THE BBC has told its reporters not to use the word “kidnapped” when describing the US government’s allegedly illegal abduction of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
The directive was revealed by The National contributor Owen Jones, who said it had been passed to him by a member of BBC staff.
BBC journalists have been banned from describing the kidnapped Venezuelan leader as having been kidnapped.

It read: “As discussed in the Nine [a daily 9am meeting of BBC staff] to ensure clarity and consistency in our reporting, please follow these guidelines when describing the recent events in Venezuela:
“‘Captured’ – Please attribute this to the US description of the operation. Example: ‘The US said Maduro was captured during the operation.’
“‘Seized’ – Acceptable for use in our own reporting where appropriate.
