Tech giant Palantir is taking the small Swiss media collective Republik Magazin to court for reporting facts.

How does this make the world more secure, as they famously claim their goal is?

break ties, break ties, break ties!

But of course, if Palantir does not like the facts, then they sue. Swiss Republik Magazin targeted by

@ChrisMayLA6 @pluralistic Meanwhile, back on the 'professional platform".

Hidden between many posts, and somewhere in the comments, Jean-Paul Sablerolle drops a hidden gem.

"The biggest misconception is that power can still be limited by legislation, while it has long been exercised through infrastructure"

Canada is turning to employee ownership to prevent U.S. take overs.

Now that the interest in a singular focus on optimality is waning in favor of more focus on resilience, richer options start to appear.

Imagine that: a lean purpose employee owned cloud infrastructure.

I think it is not only possible, it makes almost perfect sense.

The more information there is, the clearer the picture becomes.

The U.S. administration dunking on the has a purpose.

They would rather say 'EU, we detest you', then admit to their collusion with Russia.

'We detest you' to cover for the 'We betray you'.

The big revelation is not yet another lie. That much is to be expected after all.

Greed is the most positive explanation, weakness the other.

Not sure if there is coming back from that.

@ChrisMayLA6 , any thoughts on this?

My feeling is Trump's antagonism towards the EU is about the potential for the EU, if it picks up the pace, being a clear alternate site of normative power in the global system - a challenge as it were, to US 'leadership'; not that the Tangerine Tyrant cares about the content of leadership, but rather is jealously guarding its privileges

The walled gardens of the big tech-platforms will be their demise. So much innovation is lost because of the need for control.

Really, the U.S. platforms are not forward looking. The have hit reverse a long time ago, going full speed towards history.

In the previous century I could pick up a phone and call anyone. Try that with the big platforms. NoT wiTHout a DeAl!

Open protocols are the way ahead.

@spdrnl @pluralistic There is a lot of work to be done in compatibility software and hardware add-ons.

I'm eager for the laws from deals the USA broke to finally be abandoned. It is long overdue, those deals should never have been signed.

(Admittedly anyone small enough that refused got invaded and fucked over by the CIA's terrorists so I get why some were reluctant...)

@samyotix @randahl This account has 2 posts, zero followers, zero following.

The chances of this being an authentic post are very slim. The chances of this being a bot of some kind are very large.

On the contents of the post: intervention came to late during WWII. I interpret that that is the gist of Randahl's remark.

Or should we not speak until 6 million are killed, because 6 million have been killed?

@samyotix @randahl Personally I do not think that any variation of the word 'trivial' has a place in this discourse. 2/2
