This applies every bit as much to Alberta and the Conservative party in Canada as it does to the current situation in the US. It deserves a careful read before Canada ends up in the same situation. https://www.the-reframe.com/hating-the-game/

Wow, add Monarch Money (a company who until today I rather respected) to the list of companies feeding your data to their AI training crapfest by default so you have no way to avoid all your existing data being fed into their dataset. Total loss of trust.

I’m worried we saw Apple peak and between the complying in advance, the anti-developer policies, and things like this I’ll need to find another mobile platform. Google is even worse, as always. https://mastodon.online/@9to5Mac/115440764488301444

Got this beauty of a forced arbitration “agreement” via erroneous fine notice from local fave scammer PRRS Parking. Favorite part: obligation upon entering lot, so no one knows they allegedly enter contract, and it’s as unenforceable as an email confidentiality notice

PRRS is a real gem, too. Technically debt collectors, partner with lot owners, and have an egregious false positive rate. Won’t drop incorrect fines until sending a certified CFPB debt-collection letter, too

@m271 @pluralistic MyChart is also now forcing you into arbitration AND limiting their liability if they lose your personal health data. https://www.levernews.com/mychart-rewrites-the-rules-patients-lose-their-rights/

@sycophantic @Findarato @m271 @pluralistic This is tied to MyChart Central's Epic ID (https://central.mychart.org) which is rolling out system-by-system as they update to the latest version of Epic and become part of the program. Once your health system is you'll be prompted to convert your account to an Epic ID on every login, and will have to click a small "skip" link at the bottom to avoid it. Most folks aren't going to realize the harm if they don't skip.
