Just how it’s uncool to post AI-generated images or text, especially without disclosing that you did up front, it is super uncool to publish an AI-generated app—again— especially without disclosing it up front.

I don’t care if it “works.” I don’t care if people “can’t tell.” I think it’s irresponsible and deceptive. And if you don’t want to admit that you used AI to generate an app, then you know that people would react poorly to that information, which makes it pretty obviously uncool.

@philip@mallegolhansen.com avatar

@louie @stroughtonsmith @nileane I for one would find it very valuable to be able to suss out the apps (Even if they’re few, even if it’s less than 0.01% of all future created software) that are human made.

When you launch something on expect a flood on mails from "streamers" who want a free game key for a "review"

Chances are big those keys end up on marketplaces for "cheap games" and such

If these super popular streamers cannot pay the 0,99 cents and 4,99 for my game I'd rather they do not review it

It would be fun if one of my games got popular but it's not a requirement :nkoShrug:

    Let’s say you attend a religious ceremony or religious gathering place that is not a religion you subscribe to in your life. (If you’re atheist or agnostic, that’s all of them.)

    To what level do you participate? Do you go through any of the motions? Do you do it out of respect, not sticking out, or to just temporarily surrender to it? Do you abstain from that? How do you handle it?

    philip ,

    @louie So, depending on context, I think I have three different answers:

    #1 for better and worse, the Protestant Christian church has, over centuries, managed to interweave itself with Danish culture.

    So even though I don’t have any faith, I would gladly and with no reservations participate in something like Christmas mass. I’ve even been to one at the Nordic house here in Portland, because it was the closest thing to celebrating my traditions I could find.

    I've noticed something that I think is worth pointing out: pretty much ALL of the pushback I have gotten on LinkedIn over the past few months over stories critical of this administration has come from men in IT. Many of whom no doubt idolize Musk, who in their minds can walk on water.

    Conversely, the response almost universally I've seen from female non/male people in IT and security professionals on LinkedIn has been a great deal more appropriate, i.e. horror, disgust and revulsion for the way this administration is treating federal employees, veterans, the courts, judges, lawyers, journalists, and important, long-standing U.S. policy interests.

    I guess what I'm saying is nobody should expect the men in IT to lead the resistance. So many of them are like this guy: angry, aggressive, and really excited about the good old US of A going back to the 80s. Like the 1880s.

    @mwl @molly0xfff Yes! And, the beauty of it is that you still can use someone else's platform (MySpace back in the day, Substack or whatever today), but as long as you advertise a domain you own, you can just redirect it later.

    Owning a domain is like the digital equivalent of a forwarding address that never expires. Nobody ever has to worry about which town you live in on any given month, because they'll always get to you no matter what.
