The demographics of Japan

Imo revolutionary moments happen in younger countries all the time. Drastic change is quite hard/unlikely in aging societies until hopeless situations arise. The youngest continent in the world: Africa, will become more important.

Japans current state represents the future of Germany and France a few years ahead of time.

German state media reports: Iranian revolutionary guards will be classified as a terror organization "like Hamas" by the EU. France has given up the opposition on this matter in the EU parliament. Additional sanctions will be placed on Iran.

German article:
https://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/europa/eu-aussenminister-iran-100.html

Essentially positions on nuclear negotiations and the ballistic missile arsenal of Iran remain frozen, leading to contradictory positions on Iran in the middle east.

At the moment, as far as I know, EU nations have no massive military presence in the middle east, so the majority of fighting against the newly classified terrorists would be done by the US and Israel with diplomatic/economic/symbolic support. Maybe we can also view the EU trade deal with India in this context, giving India an alternative market to Iran/Central Asia in case of prolonged war.

Also EU support against Iran can be viewed as an attempt to improve US-EU relations, which got a little worse recently.

Seems like the only trading partner left for Iran is Russia, reachable over the Caspian sea if India leaves.

At any rate Indias try to challenge Chinas belt and road initiative seems to die with Chabbar port in central Asia. The port offered a direct rail link to Afghanistan for India.

Exactly. I think Venezuela is difficult for the US to invade, just because of oceans and jungles and distances; boots on the ground style. Prolonged wars with mass-logistic kill-chains always happen along direct land borders. One might argue the Sino-Japanese war negates this, but Japan needed to prepare a base in Manchuria and Korea for decades prior.

As far as I know:

  • Pakistan Iran relations are not that great - they bombed each other over Balochi separatist movements, and do not trade much, heck even India trades more with Iran than Pakistan, despite a shared land-border?
  • Pakistan - China relations are stronger than Iran - China relations. While Iran-India relations are stronger than India-Pakistan relations.
  • There are some fringe racist Persian/Iranian factions that despise Pakistanis (and Arabs) for being "browner" compared to Aryan lineage, idk. Maybe I read too much twitter.

Currency baskets ... I think some "stable-coin" startup tried to do this in the US, the basket would include all power blocks currency (Dollar, Euro, Renminbi, Indian Rupies ...) , but was quickly banned.

Trump: Uses foreign policy to turn up domestic pressure. (I do not think he does it for purely geopolitical reasons but rather to mock the U.S. congress/states and expand presidential powers to prepare for midterms.)

Many leaders in the EU: still believe in transatlantic alliance; Pivot their export based economies completely to US markets, while ignoring Africa completely.

I think it is somewhat about national pride for Trump/U.S. . "Look, China, what did you make me do, we can still dominate anyone we choose and extract concessions: Even from our allies, so we will do so doubly for our enemies." Sooner or later Mamdani will be confronted with them as a popular opposition symbol.
