If you're using LUKS don't forget you can dump/backup the header. It isn't the encryption key but is critical if you accidentally do a stupid. As to the keys themselves, how about convert them to qr codes, print them, and store them in a safe.
I got tricked. Thought this was going to be awesome content with a cool story and OP getting a fun windfall only to realize this is /c/funhole and it was even awesomest content.
A new study from UCLA Health has found that long-term residential exposure to the pesticide chlorpyrifos is associated with more than a 2.5-fold increased risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. The research, published in the journal Molecular Neurodegeneration, combines human population data with laboratory experiments showing how the pesticide damages dopamine-producing brain cells, providing biological evidence for the link.
But then you're paying full income tax on that 10% which drops it some pretty decent amount. If you can afford to hold on to the purchased shares until you get preferential tax treatment then you'd pay long term capital gains on them and that's much less than regular income tax rates. On top of that, you've got the movement of the underlying stock during the year that'll be taxed at cap gains rates rather than income. If you think the stock is going to trend down, maybe time to find a new job.

spikefield creature: "choose wisely: thinkpad or a cursed book?" a thinkpad with two bullet marks and a cursed book in front of him. "thinkpad was in a mint condition - only two bulletmarks, which rarely happens these days... and a sticker that arguably increases the value of the article due to the cultural signigicance (sticker with debian logo and text 'lesbian'), even the proce was fair - free. I almost took the thinkpad, but the way he said 'a cursed book' made me reconsider, in the end I took the book - because I could read."
Last week I transferred stock that had sat the required two years in my employee stock purchase plan to my brokerage where it promptly sold and was used to buy some international index fund shares. I'm looking forward to doing this process again every 6 months as my ESPP shares "vest" or whatever the term is for their preferential tax treatment.

Hey folks, I'm totally new to the whole meshtastic thing, but I checked the coverage in my area and it is basically nonexistent. What you get for the price seems pretty reasonable. You don't need the GPS for a static node though; it'd just drain the battery faster.
Edit: meshtastic firmware moves quickly. Having a solar node way up high and hard to reach is cool and all but having one accessible for firmware updates would probably be better.
Bought a pair of these on Amazon (Store page) with the intention to install Meshtastic on them. One of the reviews suggested that the correct firmware to install was the Lilygo T-Lora V2.1_1.6, so I used the web flasher to install it. ...

Sailing Sailing question: On a Catalina 27, if you had a choice between a loose-footed main and a boltrope main (where it is attached for the full length of the boom), which would you prefer?
And how much work would it be to convert a boltrope boom to a loose-footed boom? (my assumption is virtually no work required, but I could be wrong)
I think loose footed is more modern but the sail has to specifically be cut for it. Attaching a bolt rope sail at just the corners probably won't perform well. Don't forget the loads on the ends of the boom VS the entire length.
