Talk about the direct impact on citizens, stopping us from voting, from deciding who will represent us.

    The vast majority of income taxes are collected by employers and automatically sent to the appropriate level of government. It is possible for employees to submit a change of withholding and bring it to zero and then not pay their taxes, but that is an awful lot of effort across an awful lot of people that isn't going to happen.

    Mike Johnson and other key Republicans trying to mischaracterize the No Kings protests as a "hate America rally", really shows how scared they are, that the American people will now demonstrate that the majority is not behind the fascist Trump regime.

    The more who turn out Saturday, the more the movement against fascism will grow. For the sake of the future of US democracy, I truly hope we see millions.

    There are local Indivisible groups in every city and every county in America. There are other grassroots groups as well. Find one near you. Go to a meeting, join a protest rally, host a sign making or postcard or letter writing party.

    It's the distribution of population together with the sheer size of America.

    The now famous among activists 3.5% rule means around 12 million people actively opposing the fascist regime. That's a lot of people to organize into ongoing active opposition.

    Sustaining a nationwide general strike in a manner that could withstand use of the military to break it requires a huge amount planning and preparation well beyond what a spontaneous action could possibly do.

    My one hope, since dashed on the rocks of the MAGA SCOTUS majority, was that they would act to preserve their own positions of power.

    But every time they give Trump and his regime the OK to ignore a piece of the law and the Constitution they move another irreversible step to irrelevance.

    At some point Trump will rightly conclude he need not obey any court, including SCOTUS.

    I've heard colleagues say that the solution to what's happening to American science is for scientists to communicate the value of science better. That's false. Trump is doing a lot of unpopular things, including destroying the science enterprise. What's happening is not our fault.

    Enormous kudos to every local Indivisible leader and partner group leader who worked tirelessly to make sure every one of these events was well run, peaceful, and undeniably impactful.

    We have proven that we can bring millions of people out into the streets.

    Now we continue to activate more people, and engage them in everyday action to stop the destruction of America.
