From everything I've heard, avoid Samsung. Their customer service is apparently garbage.
I've been using an LG one from Costco for a few years now. It's super quiet vs our old one. We did have an issue with the motor, and had to pay for a technician. That being said it was an all inclusive service, so he not only installed an updated motor super fast, but also ordered and replaced a bunch of other parts for no additional cost.
The Supreme Court is taking up a case on whether Paramount violated the 1988 Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by disclosing a user’s viewing history to Facebook. The case, Michael Salazar v. Paramount Global, hinges on the law’s definition of the word “consumer.”

“The stories told in Japanese manga and anime are incredibly powerful. As much as I have enjoyed DC/Marvel superhero comics, they feel restricted in what they can do. They need to still make their world tied to ours in some fashion. There's no real change. Characters come back to life after a decade. Writers rotate off after their arc is done. Crossovers complicate everything. Things usually feel politically safe.
That gap seems to be addressed by Image comics, like Saga and Monstress. That being said, they're geared more towards adults, while manga publishers are usually marketing towards a younger, broader audience.

Flaws in how 17 models of headphones and speakers use Google’s one-tap Fast Pair Bluetooth protocol have left devices open to eavesdroppers and stalkers. ...
I'd agree security needs more attention when developing protocols and products, and I'd also consider Bluetooth simple. That being said, I know plenty of folks that don't like the Bluetooth pairing process, especially those without a technical background.
Fast Pair is really convenient, and I'd say it can open the door for a lot of new experiences, but I do wish the developers put more effort into their TARA.
For the Google-specific stuff, maybe just use a different browser that supports it? My current approach is multiple browsers, but minimize Google/Chromium as much as possible.
That sucks that you got banned with such a vague reason.
I stopped using my Reddit account after they blocked Sync from working. I still use the site now and then on the browser for casting a wider pop culture net and niche content, but I've tried to shift to the Fediverse where I can.

Some industry groups and engineers have long warned that hidden handles can jam or fail during collisions, fires, or power outages, complicating rescue efforts.
Yeah that concern makes sense.
Automakers have expressed their willingness to comply with the standard although they face a costly redesign.
Every change release is, sadly.
A Toyota body engineer told the National Business Daily the company is preparing mechanical backups inside hidden handles to comply with the new rule.
Great idea -- as long as they're easy to find in case of an accident.
Whitmer is only governor through 2026. Dems still have their primaries to rally behind a candidate, and Detroit's mayor, Dan Gilbert, is running independent.
If the XML standard is overly complex, does that mean it'll be a bigger pain for MS employees to maintain? Sounds like cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.
I've been giving Mastodon a fair share over the past few months, but even though the user base is significantly larger on that platform than Lemmy, I find the actual user ENGAGEMENT significantly worse. I'll be posting random super interesting shit (according to me at least) and get fuck all as any for of reaction whatsoever, ...
Definitely noticed that with Mastodon -- there's not a whole lot of folks talking/reacting with one another. I suspect it's related to the user base (doesn't have critical mass, demographics, or activity) or a discoverability issue. Bluesky, on the other hand, has a whole lot more engagement on a host of topics.
