macOS is better in a lot of ways but it's still prone to the occasional issue that only a reboot can fix. I'm still scared from a work Mac Mini that was clinging to life and basically only survived because I replaced its spinning rust hard drive and rebooted the thing daily. They only replaced it once the machine was stuck in a kernel panic boot loop. :BlobhajSadReach:

My new GPU delivery is 2.5 hours late and they took away the map showing the driver's location.

If I end up in jail tonight for murder, this is why.

(This is a joke. GPUs are not worth murdering over. Only assault and battery.)

Well, it was nice year for anime music. That romantic comedy made me mad (darned blue haired girl) but the soundtrack was solid. Also golfing girls and bizarre repeating timelines anime’s were good. :blobcatcoffee:

In 2025, it appears "the internet is down" can mean something happened at Cloudflare - and only at Cloudflare. Or AWS. Or Azure. Or ... do people use Google Cloud?

@apc , Adulting is hard, and perhaps no one makes it harder on herself than Minare Koda. Though she is good-looking, highly expressive, and fairly intelligent, she stumbles through life thanks to an over-abundance of sass, laziness, occasional over-drinking, and a plethora of minor, everyday bad decisions.

From constantly being on the edge of losing her soup curry job, to never quite having success at relationships, Minare epitomizes the day to day disasters of Adulting.

I'm not even gonna describe what lead to this. It's far too fun to spoil. Let's just say Minare had ample reason to perform a police-assisted apology to her downstairs neighbor!
Time for work! Yeah... Minare doesn't actually look too excited to be heading back to her part time waitress job.

@neatchee I'm optimistic Mr. Yano's Ordinary Days will be a sweet high school romance between a clumsy boy and a girl who's worried about him. Like a different take on the set up of Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie, plus visuals not being the common shiny anime stuff caught my eye pretty quick.

Updated the last of my machines to macOS 26 with the .0.1 release today. It seems OK, though I'd echo folks saying Liquid Glass is the least thought out on desktop. It almost makes me think of early Windows 11 in the way it feels very incomplete but you can see spots where there's inklings of change and other spots that will very likely change.

It's nice that Launchpad is simply gone though. Weird how long Apple just left the faux iPad launcher on macOS and replacing it with basically a special Spotlight view makes a lot more sense.

The "Windows Hello" facial recognition feature does more than unlock your PC. It also takes a daily "mood selfie" and sends it to the Microsoft cloud server. This data is then used to predict global happiness trends or index, which are sold to major corporations for market research 🙃
