Can the Sighties kindly shut up if someone raises a question addressed to blind people. Instead of going: "A merchant from a faraway land told me about a blind person, known in that region, who appears to use a knotted rope, woven by hand into a tablecloth to access the Mastodon"

Interesting to me that sighted people are predominantly interested in the production of alt text, but have no interest in the reception of their writings by blind people.

Sighted people: I cannot write alt text. Too hard! Too many characters to type in the little box
Also Sighted people: Let me write you 5 well-crafted paragraphs in a reply to explain to you why adding alt text is so exceedingly hard

Sooooo. I dropped out of my highly niche strategic IT job with full blown autistic burnout and fully awakened PTSD, suicidality from all kinds of sources. Working towards treating the PTSD. Trying to "re-integrate" at work. I'm in the Dutch system, it has stringent rules. Point is: I can't mask anymore. At all. This makes work, even the one online meeting I had, with friendly, caring people, highly stressful. So much so that it ups the suicidality level. Stuck. Is there any way you can work zero hours for a while? It would probably be helpful to be out of your work environment altogether for a while, no?
Best wishes in any case! I'm back to my usual 5 hours a day since the beginning of April (after 0 from october to January, then slowly increasing) and I'm doing mostly ok. But only because I was able to really unplug, rest, spend 10 weeks in a clinic.
I wish you the very best and the fullest recovery possible!

@DoryTheFish @Zumbador actuallyautistic@a.gup.pe icon ActuallyAutistic group I came to that conclusion too. It's not healthy like this. And many thanks for the good wishes from everyone.
