Okay I pushed my luck too far and now windows wouldn't start.

There were a few bad sectors on my SSD a while back, but since I have been working on syncing data across devices already I left it unattended - thinking that I will eventually get to it (ha, eventually).

I have over 75% of the work transferred to the other PCs, however as the corrupted SSD was on my daily driver - there are still local work files not sync'd across to other PCs.

The problem now is not only about losing files, but having a unclear scale of data loss. I simply couldn't remember the number of files I haven't backed up.

Fuck.

Top trending post of 2026 - another hate speech against the riches. Something along the line of wishing a submarine sinking the billionaires yachts.

Labeling and targeting the riches is how second world war and cultural revolution started.

Quite reassuring to know that we didn't learn from history isn't it?

Quit enjoyed this piece:
https://www.experimental-history.com/p/the-decline-of-deviance
(I didn't read all the stats, but from spot checks they are from american "survey" data ie take it with a pinch of salt)

Particularly interestingly:

  1. New generation are 50% less likely to drink alcohol
  2. Less likely to be anti-social (Northern Ireland data)

I wonder if it has anything to do with capital surveillance, online bullying, and extreme woke-ism.

Somehow I find it similar to cultural revolution...

Please listen to this podcast about ANOM:

The FBI ran a sting operation in Europe where they created their own 'secure' phone and messaging platform. Their OS used portions of our code and was heavily marketed as being GrapheneOS or based on GrapheneOS.

Only if they stop the music, the dramatic tone, and with better editing.
Documentaries are to provide information based on evidence and stats, not mock drama.

I had to stop listening when they double down on those cheap attention grabbing tricks.

Hard truth is using non-major service providers are likely to have more outages especially for applications at that scale (DDG, Signal).

Infrastructure can only segregate their risks to an extent - they are called major for a reason.

To solve the problem that one building bringing down one-third of the internet we need more providers in the network and hosting market, not just a different application.

20 books trend is something I loathe deeply.

It's not a photo, the cover on its own would not convey different interpretations. This place is not the gram either.

Just low-effort format for people who've read 20 books and still can' string together a sentence themselves.
