American Robin feasts on a bumper crop of Toyon.

perched above a massive cluster of red berries a medium sized bird has one berry in its beak, about to be eaten. From Wikipedia: the bird’s head varies from jet black to gray, with white eye arcs and white supercilia . The throat is white with black streaks, and the belly and undertail coverts are white. The adult has a brown back and a reddish-orange breast, varying from a rich red maroon to peachy orange. The bill is mainly yellow with a variably dark tip, the dusky area becoming more extensive in winter, and the legs and feet are brown.

Only a few Red-whiskered Bulbuls live in Los Angeles - descendants of pet shop escapees! - and have a delightful call, “pleased-to-meet-you!”

Sitting on a power line, a medium sized bird with a fluffy white body, a black head with a vibrant cherry-colored patch under its eye and another where the long-ish tail meets the body. Its most impressive feature is a black crest, which resembles a rockabilly hairdo.
