I didn't know that "Wacky Races" got a reboot in 2017. But looking at it, it looks as "clean", cheap and boring as many modern cartoons look to me. (even several that I enjoy).

I wish more new cartoons would get me to say "damn, that's beautiful", but I guess that would just increase production costs to unreasonable levels for the studios.

Lackadaisy looks nice, but hey, that's an indie thing, of course indie people do cool stuff. 😁

Okay, as I mentioned CD albums today, I just went through all my old pile of CDs and extracted all the ones from it that still were complete sets.

Surprisingly many, including the Avantasia one I wanted to have again. 😁

Now, time to see if they're still in working condition as, sadly, teenager and very young adult me wasn't much of a... careful collector or something.

I'm sorry, I'm better now! 😭

Oh my, see, I just mentioned age ratings, and now I read this:

"Dispatch" forces censorship in its Nintendo Switch version.

The, usually optional, "profanity censorship" option is missing and force-enabled in the Switch version:

Interestingly enough, on Steam the game has a German 18+ rating, while both, the Switch and the uncensored Playstation version are 16+.

Anyway, this is so wild. Other games were censored by Sony, but not by Nintendo, now the other game around.

Such dumb decisions.

The moments when my Manjaro Linux suddenly pops up with "440 updates available" are the moments when I am really happy Linux doesn't forces restarts onto me, contrary to my work's Windows laptop which, for some reason due to the software deployment we use, FORCED me with countdowns to do it every day over the last three work days! 😅

I would totally accept being bitten and scratched all over by raccoons, opossums, Tasmanian devils and honey badgers when petting them if that wouldn't be a sign of them disliking it.

If they'd just do it, I don't know, out of principle, but don't have a problem with me personally, that would be worth the pain!

I just want to say, while I mostly talk about Judy in the context of Zootopia, I really love Karen's design and would like to see more of her and also hug her and see how many tries it would take to get her used to not rip me apart for it.

But who knows, maybe that's part of why I wanna try it? 😁

Also...there was a nice...erm...fanart of that Maplesticks woman...but that's a different post.

I suddenly kinda feel the need to write a short, emotional scene about her, BUT there's really nothing said about her personality except anger issues and attacking her police partner, not even the way she talks or anything.

Thus everything I'd write would be completely made up based on her looks and aggression, which means I'd subconsciously write her like my own character Gaea that I also consider easy to anger (not as easy as Karen, though^^) and being bitey, and that feels like an unfair assumption.

So I can only hope they feature her in Zootopia 3 again or...maybe we'll get a "Zootopia++" show? 😁

Anyway, I wanna hug her, and when I wake up in the hospital afterwards with her worried about how much blood I lost, she'll finally agree and I'll tell her the hug was worth the blood loss!

As you might know, I enjoy overthinking fictional (games and cartoons usually) economies and currencies.

For example, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic has highly inconsistent prices. 😁

What I just stumbled about:

In some issue of the Dungeons and Dragons handbook, the daily lifestyle expenses read:

Poor (simple food and lodgings): 2 Silver per day

In Baldur's Gate 3, a single Cormyr apple costs 2 GOLD.
A bottle water (to be fair, including the bottle) is 5 Gold.
A boiled potatoe is 4 Gold.

(All base prices)

That said, BG3 also ONLY uses Gold and uses none of the lower denominations, so, maybe prices are more fitting in the actual DnD rulebooks. 😁

That said, a non-magical gold ring is 20 Gold, so, the price of five boiled potatoes. 😁😅

I'm gonna go jewelry shopping now, because I bought a whole bag of potatoes, and that means I should easily be able to buy some gold rings! 😁

(Of course different worlds might have different products be "the cheap" or "the expensive" one. But considering the 2 SILVER expenses, damn, all BG3 stuff is really expensive. 😁)

It's the weekend!
Time to hopefully tidy up a little bit (I'm doubting it!), prepare a package, watch more Gumball and...mhh...download more images of cartoon crushes!?

Also, I have a battery powered DAB+ radio in case of internet and possibly medium-long power outages, but maybe I should replace that with one that also has solar and a hand crank? Ahh, we shall see!

Also, I wanna place Meshtastic nodes everywhere now because it's kinda awesome to know you can have "networks" that are completely independent from bigger networks!

I need to combine all these things somehow!

Alright, idea to combine two things I have interest in:

My character Gaea, as so often wearing fishnets stuff, pulling the fishnets along with some kind of comment like "wanna see if ya can connect to this mesh? winks" or something like that. 😅

I'm using noon to clean and re-sort my everyday backpack, considering what I really realistically (or for fun) need.

This also means me once again watching more EDC (Every Day Carry) videos in the background.

Mhh...if I finally got rid of the condoms I'll never gonna use I could put hard/pointy stuff in that pocket instead, gonna be realistic...okay, maybe I'll just get a little metal container for the condoms and tampons. 🤔

I still wonder which is better for preservation purposes: physical or digital (DRM-free) books.

The advantage of physical books:

  • They're, well, actually there
  • Work without electricity, or other devices in general

The advantage of digital, DRM-free books:

  • Can easily be copied and making backups is simple
  • Are easier protected from stuff like fire and UV rays (as long as backups/versions are kept in multiple places

Accessibility point: eBooks on eReaders can be set to bigger font sizes

Now, I think this is not really an either/or situation.

I think both of them are important and should be kept. The more important point, I guess, is keeping the digital ones DRM-free.
