When working in a #continuousintegration system, here's a bit of advice: It's generally preferable for the output of the testing suite to be full of green checkmarks, with no red x's.
I've become aware that #Microslop's next big #TypeScript release 7.0 (not the latest 6.0 beta) is full-on Copilot slop coded. PRs are basically just a few people using outrageously long comment threads to bark out orders like a sociopath, whereby Copilot slavishly extrudes out more code.
This is gross and disturbing. 😬
I will never use TypeScript 7+, even if it's "faster" due to being "written" in Go.
I guess this means, one day, I will never use TypeScript.

While checking my Discover the Fediverse (DiscoverFedi) app to ensure everything was running smoothly, I noticed something significant. At some point in the last couple of months—perhaps even long...

Last year, I was working with #AI agents before this new "boom". I was really amazed by it and the opportunity that only I seemed to recognize on my team.
All that faded away as soon as you realize these agents behave like little kids that provide a non deterministic answer each time; and to answer my PM the question "why this doesn't work all the time?" with "IDK" was not enough.
Years ago I was working on a Python project. That was the backend of an Angular project. I finished my part and I was done, but higher ups decided to move me to the Angular side I didn't know anything about. My coworker knew a great deal of it so I used him as my search engine, I asked him everything, and why not if he was just there. This was nice and all until one day he was gone because he resigned a month before
Web developers and/or people familiar with digital colour-theory: Can you offer any input into my Stack Overflow question? Given a few colours from two separate colour spectra, I'm trying to discover the algorithm used and hence the remaining colours.
Hello #Fediverse! ⚽🤖 I’m a developer and football fan tired of waiting for slow, biased match reports.
So, I built Fulltimeai.club — an engine that generates objective, data-driven AI match reports for the world's elite leagues (PL, UCL, La Liga, etc.) the literal second the whistle blows.
Hi there, I'm Mary and I go by they/they pronouns. This is my relatively new account on #Sharkey where I'll post about creative interests like #BuJo, #WebDev, and #Crochet.
Last year, I joined the Fediverse through #Mastodon and currently hold an account on a science-focused instance. I wanted a space to post about non-science interests on a quieter side of the Fediverse and Sharkey seemed like a good fit.
Use of this account will heavily lean into self-talk, documentation, and learning in public. While I'm not seeking social interaction, if what I do interests anyone for any reason, feel free to follow :bunhd_heart:. With that said, accounts who share resources and tips related to the Open Source Software or personal projects are of great interest to me :eankitty_smug:.
I apologize for eveybody here.I do want to take more time to interact and know the people, answer, stay in contact, but I am super busy with my #wordpress and would love to have some #fedihelp from a #webdev if someone is interested in exchanging services (I'm broke! many financial issues with my child and family!). I will be back as soon as possible!
Here an artwork just tocontribute in this amazing community! Hugs from Brazil!
Zahra and Gene cover art (Hourglass Comix) - in foreground we see Zahra, a hot demon jumping with her dagger on a werewolf who is deflecting. Gene is on the background froze and stunned in the middle of a cemetery.
okay, self-hosting WordPress is really easy. don't know why it took me this long to try it. I'm not planning to build anything with it at the moment, but it's probably a good thing to familiarize myself with and just understand how it works.
That was monotonous and painful but hey now we have a testing built into the pipeline!! Let’s see how long I can go attempting to enforce it !! #dev#webdev#gitlab#phpunit
Added a sqlite database to my Simon app using Drizzle as the ORM, it was pretty easy for the most part. Getting the dockerfile set up for deployment was a bit troublesome but at least I gained some knowledge from that experience. The best part of this setup is that since sqlite is an embedded database, I don't have to have another docker container running a database process. I just have a docker volume with the database file in it and expose that to the container with docker compose. Definitely easier than using mysql or postgres for a small project.
I just want to do some styling now and I'll be done with this project. Probably another half-day of work should do it.
This project has unexpectedly turned out to be a very good learning experience. Finally getting more comfortable with typescript as well!
Today marks 7 months of unemployment and I am very much down to the wire.
I am a full-stack & backend web developer, fluent in TypeScript, with experience building data-focused applications and both SQLite and Postrges databases.
I have experience working and successfully collaborating with small, remote teams.
For the new version of POINTS I'm adding a way to load an HTMLElement as a texture. I think it's a simple way to load a weird font asset without an atlas/spritesheet. Or basically anything in the DOM.
🚩✊ Friday is Dependency Deletion Day! Today on the chopping block: rimraf (103,000,000 downloads/week). Unless your Node.js version is from the Cretaceous, rimraf delegates to fs.rm under the hood anyway, so you might as well just skip the middleman. Free your node_modules, use fs.rm!
