Samsung blokuje bootloader w smartfonach. Na zawsze.

"So it begins", użytkownicy smartfonów pod szyldem Samsunga doczekali się wyłączenia przez producenta możliwości odblokowania bootloadera. Tym ruchem producent przekreślił możliwość instalowania jakichkolwiek niestandardowych romów z LineageOS na czele, czy możliwość uzyskania uprawnień roota. Jest to o tyle smutna informacja, że smartfonom Samsunga było najbliżej do spełnienia wymogów bezpieczeństwa stawianych przez deweloperów GrapheneOS. Pomijając innych małych producentów, Samsung dołącza do niechlubnej ławki niewolnych producentów, na której obecny jest już od dawna Huawei. Jeśli ktoś liczy na odrobinę wolności i prywatności, pozostaje omijać szerokim łukiem wymienionych producentów.

    Cholera jasna, Gógiel znowu coś nazmieniał w wykrywaniu zrootowanych telefonów i mimo rozmaitych kombinacji z modułami Magisk, dzięki którym checker pokazuje, że telefon przechodzi wszystkie testy, Portfel Google odmawia działania.

    Coincidentially, that's why (and ) doesn't let users have access because billions of devices owned by mostly "" thathardly get would be an even bigger risk if they didn't boot a locked-down image, thus only allowing for in user-privilegued userspace!

    Cuz having a mobile OS that shoves everything through and only allows -Apps in the form modern web technologies would be a big and gain.

    • Not to mention is on it's way out and inevitably they gotta have to transition to supporting and eventually - at some point.
