Dan The Man - a classic platformer ported to web using Defold!

Born from Studio JOHO’s web series, turned into a humorous arcade parody by Halfbrick, and installed on 100M+ devices was brought next to the web by Denda Games and Yes2Games.

Game Distribution wrote a short article on finding its place on web and you can play it there too:

Would anyone like to play my game?

It's a year old. It's a with three levels and three separate Win states, it's got some bonus levels and rooms. It's not easy, you must die a few times to learn the levels!
But it is some fun, I hope.

It is my first game, though I am working on another.

It is free to play or download(win), and I do recommend the download!

Happy to give some play clues to anyone interested.

It's the sequel thread, and this time I'll do it right!

I'll reply to this thread every time I "finish" playing a video game this year. That could mean getting to the end of the story it tells, or just getting to a point where I think I've experienced what the game has to offer me.

By "doing it right" I mean that I won't forget about the part where I don't actually have to play to what would be considered the end of the game.

I managed to tear myself away from Final Fantasy XIV for long enough to play through Kitsune Tails. Super cute and queer game featuring at least one and other people and things inspired by mythology.

Had a lot of fun with act 1, but upon starting act 2 I first felt like it was kinda of a chore... until I suddenly just got in the groove and kinda blasted through it and felt great! Surprised by how much better my platforming was, too!

One of the mini-games in Kitsune Tails is just the Monty Hall problem. A cat man presents Yuzu with three magical doors and encourages her to choose one. (Two of them hide a single gold coin, while the third has a magical cloud.) After the player chooses a door, the cat man opens another to reveal one of the coins, and then offer the chance to either stick with the initial choice or switch to the other closed door. Statistically, switching doors is the correct choice, but in practice I only succeeded once in three or four tries.
Kitsune Tails has a memory-style card game like Super Mario Bros. 3. Fail to reveal a pair four time and the game ends. It would be nice to figure out if it's completely random or if there's a set number of patterns like what Nintendo accidentally did, but whatever the case I did manage to reveal the entire board once in my playthrough. For the success (pictured), I was kinda lucky in that most cards had an adjacent card of the same type, which made it so I automatically solved parts of the board as I revealed new cards. Pictured cards: Fried fish, chests with three varieties of coins, giant boots, a set of dark clothes, and diving fins.
A confrontation between two other fox-girls: Yuzu's childhood friend, Kiri, and Kiri's teacher in the sword arts, Erin. Kiri: "If we keep meeting like this, I'm going to start thinking you a crush one me, Erin!" Kiri is orange fopsgirl with a bit of an attitude, while Erin has brown fur, dark clothing, and more of a vulpine face compared to Kiri and Yuzu's distinctly human-looking ones.

The demo doesn't feature much on the choice side, but this is a narrative and choice-driven , as advertised on the Steam page. It's mostly a fetch quest to collect some escaped sheep while learning about the town of Hus.

The pixel art is cute and soothing, and the dialogue entertaining. Also, everyone's a , which is pretty great. Reminds me of a thing I've written for a possible future game, actually.

    Full game next year!

Ren is standing outside the Pool Temple and praising a GOOD KITTY. The cat is orange. A mountain top is visible among the clouds in the background, a lake/pool is visible in the foreground and reflecting said mountain, and the entrance to the temple is a pair of partially crumbled pillars with carved symbols on them.
Ren is standing in the actual Pool Temple area. A couple of doors are visible on the right side, leading to private rooms for private sexual encounters. This is where the women of Hus go to magically make babies. There's a swimming pool extending horizontally across most of the screen. A woman with dark brown hair is swimming in the water; presumably nude. In front of the pool, next to Ren, is a couple dressed in white robes who are talking and joking around. The one on the left is a head taller, presumably muscular, and with hazelnut brown-adjacent hair that goes down to her waist. Red trims on her robes. The one on the right is curvier, marginally taller than Ren, and has waist-length magenta hair. Purple trims on her robes, and a green butterfly flying above her head.
In the market area Ren runs into three vendors selling various wares. They're all very obvious stand-ins for, but legally distinct from, famous videogame characters. Furthest to the right is a Lara Croft who sells various artifacts she's tomb-raided. In the middle is a dopey-looking Pac-Man trying to sell strange-looking cherries, strawberries and eggplants. To the left is a Princess Peach-like who's apparently left her kingdom and her boyfriend to sell colorful turtle shells.

Okay. So this is a with maybe a touch of to it, what with the puzzle-like exploration.

The art is apparently before being turned into assets for the game, and you can see clear (i.e. Miyazaki) influences in the designs. Importantly, though, it's all based on folklore.

You play as Elise, medieval mother of two, who runs an inn and falls backwards into a terrifying murder(?) mystery.

While out on a fetch quest that leads into... another fetch quest (delivering cake and fetching a shirt and some mead), Elise meets up with one of the other women of the town, who (to the dismay of the local Christian authorities) is praying to forest spirits at an old pagan shrine. The woman has lost her son, but believes him to still be around; possibly communing with him at the shrine.
In an attempt to deliver a piece of cake to the local beekeeper and retrieve a bottle of mead, Elise finds herself in... an unusually deep cellar, which appears to be cooled by blocks of ice. Further in, she finds the body of a young boy on a bloodied table, and as she attempts to flee from the place she is corned by a man I can only assume to be the beekeeper. Presumably there are some ritual sacrifices going on.
Backing away from the beekeeper leads to Elise falling down further into the subterranean depths, where the player must solve a series of puzzles to progress further and further down, with mysterious creatures and spirits hiding in the darkness. Eventually she opens and passes through an large stone gate that leads her to a small, goblin-like creature. Having lost her own torch, she must chase after the goblin as it lights the way upwards through dangerous terrain. Whether it is just running from her, being a trickster, or is intentionally trying to lead her out of the deep dungeon she's found herself in is unclear.
