Memories of a walk in nature, 13 years ago, in search of a Silent Sunday, a bit of peace in a tumultuous and turbulent period of my life that would soon come to an end, although I didn't know it yet.
This photo holds a profound significance, known only to me.
This is a serene photo capturing a group of common reeds, illuminated by the soft, warm glow of the setting sun. The reeds are in sharp focus in the foreground, while the background is a gently blurred landscape featuring a tranquil waterway, flanked by grassy banks that lead to a line of tall, slender trees in the distance. The trees' bare branches suggest it is winter. The low angle of the sun creates a peaceful ambiance and casts a golden hue over the scene, highlighting the feathery plumes of the reeds and giving the entire image a quiet, timeless quality.
An autumn landscape at sunset. Bare trees dominate the upper frame, their branches reaching across a golden sky. Below, vibrant green grass covers the ground, and a small stream winds through the scene, reflecting the warm light. A large tree trunk stands on the right, scarred where a branch was cut, but still alive with orange leaves clinging to its younger branches.
This is how I see the world. The bare trees, what we notice most, seem dead, like today's civilization: governed by hatred, coldness, selfishness, rampant individualism. But at the base, the grass is green. Because at the base, there are wonderful people who often go unnoticed, yet they are the most important part of everything. And beyond: light and color, because life can give us far more than these bare "trees" show right now. And the trees themselves, if not rotten inside, will bloom again.
I intentionally increased the saturation to create this contrast: to flood the scene with light.
I’ve taken many shots like this, every year, with the same subject and in the same place. Yet I’m still fascinated by this perspective.
This one is from just a few hours ago: the sunset and the "fragile" flower. A breath of wind will be enough, and the flower, as we see it, will vanish. Yet it will be everywhere, spreading itself across the world.
There it stands, swaying in the gentle air and the soft warmth of a November sunset, defying whatever happens around it.
No yesterday, no tomorrow - just here, now, basking in this poetic light.
(There's a story behind this photo. I was walking alone, attempting to unwind after a particularly rough day. Behind me was the local cemetery (the road leading to it).
I noticed this light and grabbed my Galaxy Nexus. Although the phone had a subpar camera, this time, with some minor color adjustments, it produced a surprisingly good result.)
The photo shows a tree-lined path during autumn. The trees have dense foliage in shades of yellow and green, suggesting early autumn. A carpet of fallen leaves covers the path, which is centered in the photo and stretches into the distance where the setting sun casts a warm glow. The sky is not visible, and there are no people or animals seen. The overall ambiance is serene and picturesque, typical of an autumnal scene.
As the sun doth sink 'tween tower and age-old walls,
The plaza basks in gentle, warm orange embrace.
In tranquil eve, the city waits, as nightfall calls,
Preparing for nocturnal symphony to grace.
Sunset in an Ferrara's Piazza Trento e Trieste, where the 'kiss of the sun' bathes the cobbled path in a warm, golden light. Silhouettes of historic buildings and a classic watchtower stand against the glowing sky. Pedestrians become dark figures in the sun's embrace, casting long shadows that blend with the outlines of ancient architecture. The tranquil moment captures the romance of the day's end, as the sun's farewell touch graces the heart of the city with a fleeting, amber radiance.
This is an autumn season photo taken at a "T" intersection of two paths. A number of the trees are in the foreground which still have colourful leaves attached. Some of the leaves however have fallen and cover the ground. The background has vegetation that is still green in places. This photo definitely has an autumn vibe and feel to it. The frame is filled with colour.
